🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/19/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

Psalm 57[a]

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam.[b] When he had fled from Saul into the cave.

1  Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,

    for in you I take refuge.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings

    until the disaster has passed.

2  I cry out to God Most High,

    to God, who vindicates me.

3  He sends from heaven and saves me,

    rebuking those who hotly pursue me—[c]

    God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

4  I am in the midst of lions;

    I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—

men whose teeth are spears and arrows,

    whose tongues are sharp swords.

5  Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;

    let your glory be over all the earth.

6  They spread a net for my feet—

    I was bowed down in distress.

They dug a pit in my path—

    but they have fallen into it themselves.

7  My heart, O God, is steadfast,

    my heart is steadfast;

    I will sing and make music.

8  Awake, my soul!

    Awake, harp and lyre!

    I will awaken the dawn.

9  I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;

    I will sing of you among the peoples.

10  For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;

    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11  Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;

    let your glory be over all the earth.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Heavenly Father,

How Wonderful,

How Majestic,

How Glorious is Your Most Holy Name!

We Come Before You.

Not on our own merits,

But because of Your Righteousness,

Faithfulness,

and Love,

According to Your Holy Word.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

In The Godfather II, the widow of a murdered "don" pleads for mercy for herself and her little boy. The new "don" just shoots her. The boy escapes, gets on a boat to America, and grows up to be even more ruthless than the don who killed his parents. His entire life is decided in the moment of his mother's murder, and decades later, he returns to Sicily and exacts his revenge against the aged don. The mother had pled for mercy from the unmerciful, and thus set off a stream of violence that went halfway around the world and back again.

When David sincerely pleads for mercy from God, he does so with the quiet assurance in his heart that God will hear his plea. He takes refuge, not on a boat to America, but in the shadow of the wings of the very God he has offended with his sins.

The "Storms of Destruction" are not from God, but from the enemy of David's soul.

The Psalms of David often have subtitles that explain why he wrote them. Because of these subtitles, we can match the events in 1 & 2 Samuel to David's actual prayers. We see him running from Saul, getting married, hiding in a cave, acting like a lunatic to escape his enemies, falling into sin, repenting, rejoicing in his forgiveness, and running to God as his Refuge and Strength.

Although David was blessed with prophetic gifts, he was often startled and surprised by events. His prophecies were far in the future, concerning the Messiah, not that Saul was going to throw a spear at him while he was playing the harp!

Each startling event was dealt with by writing a Psalm. David's response to the surprises of life was PRAYER.

However, we don't just go to God when we want something or need a refuge from danger. This point was also illustrated in The Godfather, when the now grown-up boy (Vito) is celebrating his daughter's wedding. A man he hasn't seen in years shows up in his office and begs for help in a bad situation. Vito chastises the man, because, when times were good, the man had never visited. Now that he's in trouble, he shows up.

Go to God in all circumstances, good and bad, and don't let YEARS go by without a visit.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen and thank you

Father God, we thank You that we serve a merciful God.
Help us to extend that mercy.
Help us to love the unlovable and to pray for our enemies.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America-250.

I like the scene in The Godfather I where he holds and pets the cat. And the cat was a stray who happened to walk onto the set.

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.
