🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/12/26)[Prayer]

Personalities
Psalm 50
1 A psalm of Asaph.
1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord,
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
2 From Zion, perfect in beauty,
God shines forth.
3 Our God comes
and will not be silent;
a fire devours before him,
and around him a tempest rages.
4 He summons the heavens above,
and the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 “Gather to me this consecrated people,
who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness,
for he is a God of justice.[a][b]
7 “Listen, my people, and I will speak;
I will testify against you, Israel:
I am God, your God.
8 I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices
or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
9 I have no need of a bull from your stall
or of goats from your pens,
10 for every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know every bird in the mountains,
and the insects in the fields are mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,
for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?
14 “Sacrifice thank offerings to God,
fulfill your vows to the Most High,
15 and call on me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
16 But to the wicked person, God says:
“What right have you to recite my laws
or take my covenant on your lips?
17 You hate my instruction
and cast my words behind you.
18 When you see a thief, you join with him;
you throw in your lot with adulterers.
19 You use your mouth for evil
and harness your tongue to deceit.
20 You sit and testify against your brother
and slander your own mother’s son.
21 When you did these things and I kept silent,
you thought I was exactly[c] like you.
But I now arraign you
and set my accusations before you.
22 “Consider this, you who forget God,
or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:
23 Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me,
and to the blameless[d] I will show my salvation.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba Father,
Most Excellent Majesty!
Magnified and Sanctified
is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
How Glorious and How Marvelous are Your Works,
Of which only now we are starting to glimpse a tiny portion!
You are Eternal,
Immortal,
Everlasting,
And Unchanging,
Yesterday,
Today, and Forever.
There is no shadow of turning with You.
Even when we are unfaithful,
You are Forever Faithful to Your Covenants!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Good Morning! I'm early today, because the weather is nasty, and I don't feel like hiking great distances in the rain. That's OK. I don't HAVE to meet a quota of calories burned, even though the silly "app" on my phone tries to convince me of that. I refuse to be held hostage to an "app"! 😎
Today's psalm is designated as being "A Psalm of Asaph". Who was Asaph? A quick search turns up this:
Key Roles and Identity
• Levite and Musician: Asaph was the son of Berechiah from the tribe of Levi. David appointed him as one of the chief musicians to play the bronze cymbals and lead public worship when the Ark of the Covenant was brought to Jerusalem.
• Seer and Prophet: He is referred to in scripture as a "seer" who delivered divine messages and prophetic insights through his music.
• Author of Psalms: Asaph is credited with writing 12 psalms in the Bible: Psalm 50 and Psalms 73 through 83. These songs frequently explore themes of divine judgment, the struggles of the righteous, communal lament, and wrestling with the apparent prosperity of the wicked.
• Founder of a Musical Guild: He established a hereditary family and guild of temple musicians known as the "sons of Asaph". This group continued to lead worship in the temple for centuries, including during the reigns of later kings and after the return from the Babylonian exile.
Asaph sounds like my kinda guy! David must have had great respect for Asaph, as this particular Psalm in included in the section of Psalms called "The Psalms of David". Asaph had a totally different personality than David, and we can feel that both in the Subject Matter and the Rhythm of this Psalm.
The Psalm speaks of God as a Righteous Judge. A Righteous Judge is a rarity among humans, which is why there has to be avenues of appeal and "checks and balances" in the System.
Sometimes, even those aren't enough.
May God grant wisdom, discernment, and impartiality to those who are appointed to judge over us in this life.
We know for SURE that we'll get it in the next.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Amen to your word and prayer. Maybe you can hang out with Asaph later, eh. So this Psalms reminds me of those who monitor their thought life and those who don’t keep it in check, as if it is ok with God, who is generous and forgiving , so they think he allows us to live 2 different lives. jus sayn.

What you said brings to mind what I wrote about Psalm 50 about “keeping things in check” over five years ago:
“The Ownership of our Mobile Home Park has changed many times in its long life. At present, it is owned and operated by a huge company that owns hundreds of Mobile Home Parks and Camper/RV Parks all over the country. So, we are usually ignored as long as we pay the rent.
Some of us like it that way. I, for one, am happy to keep my property looking nice on my own. I am quite capable of not being a slob without a pile of rules and regulations keeping me in check.
Then there are the hoarders. They use the fact that we are ignored by the Management to fill their yards with junk. Old couches, TV’s and other detritus pile up, get moldy, and present a hazard for everybody else.
Finally, there is a third category. These are the people whose property looks lovely, but they are not content with that. They are constantly calling the Property Manager to complain about their neighbors, and demand that the rules get enforced. They also demand more draconian rules for their neighbors (but of course not for themselves). A perfect example would be the rule against erecting fences between the lots. The ones who do all the phone calls for enforcement also felt free to erect a fence between themselves and their not-so-meticulous neighbor.
“Rules For Thee, But Not For Me” has been an age-old problem in government, religion, and society for as long as there has been Civilization. When asked which is the Greatest Commandment, Jesus responded that all the Commandments could be condensed thus:
Love God with your whole heart,
and
Love Your Neighbor as yourself.”
In these two commands are contained all The Law and The Prophets.
If we all lived by these two Commandments, there would be no need for Rules and Regulations, but, alas, that is not real life.
Although I never want my Freedom to be a license to harm others, I rejoice in the fact that “Whom The Son Sets Free Is Free Indeed!”

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.
