🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/4/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

Psalms 42–72

Psalm 42[a][b]Psalms 42–72

Psalm 42[a][b]

For the director of music. A maskil[c] of the Sons of Korah.

1  As the deer pants for streams of water,

    so my soul pants for you, my God.

2  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

    When can I go and meet with God?

3  My tears have been my food

    day and night,

while people say to me all day long,

    “Where is your God?”

4  These things I remember

    as I pour out my soul:

how I used to go to the house of God

    under the protection of the Mighty One[d]

with shouts of joy and praise

    among the festive throng.

5  Why, my soul, are you downcast?

    Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

    for I will yet praise him,

    my Savior and my God.

6  My soul is downcast within me;

    therefore I will remember you

from the land of the Jordan,

    the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7  Deep calls to deep

    in the roar of your waterfalls;

all your waves and breakers

    have swept over me.

8  By day the Lord directs his love,

    at night his song is with me—

    a prayer to the God of my life.

9  I say to God my Rock,

    “Why have you forgotten me?

Why must I go about mourning,

    oppressed by the enemy?”

10  My bones suffer mortal agony

    as my foes taunt me,

saying to me all day long,

    “Where is your God?”

11  Why, my soul, are you downcast?

    Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

    for I will yet praise him,

    my Savior and my God.

Footnotes:

* Psalm 42:1 In many Hebrew manuscripts Psalms 42 and 43 constitute one psalm.
* Psalm 42:1 In Hebrew texts 42:1-11 is numbered 42:2-12.
* Psalm 42:1 Title: Probably a literary or musical term
Psalm 42:4 See Septuagint and Syriac; the meaning of the Hebrew for this line is uncertain.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father

Who Art in Heaven,

Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!

How Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,

Our God,

King of The Universe,

Who Has Brought Us To This Day!

We Come into Your Presence With Singing

and into Your Courts With Praise,

For You Alone Are Worthy,

You Alone Are LORD,

You Alone Are The Host High,

You Alone Are The LORD of Hosts,

And You Alone Hold The

of Life and Death in Your Hand.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

I love to read, and especially enjoy True Adventures involving survival. I have read dozens of books of this type, including the heroic story of the Shackleton Expedition, the story of The Whaling Ship Essex, and, most recently "Escape From Shangri-La", which took place on the Island of New Guinea during WW2. (I highly recommend this book!) While the settings of these stories range from the Frigid Polar Regions to the Rain Forest, and the perils range from Polar Bears to Headhunters, there is ONE common denominator: the need for Fresh Water. The most frustrating would be a situation in a life boat, surrounded by water as far as the eye can see, but none of it potable. Samuel Taylor Coleridge put it best in this line from "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner:

"Water, water, everywhere, And all the boards did shrink; Water, water, everywhere, Nor any drop to drink."

Even in the Rain Forest, though, the Survivors in the WW2 Story were afraid to drink the water direct from the stream because of all the "microbes" that would probably be present.

In both Testaments, the Holy Bible compares Fresh Water to the Word of God. The Prophet Amos even compares the scarcity of the Word to a famine in Amos 8:11:

"Behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord GOD, "when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.

In Today's Psalm, David compares his thirst for the Word of God to that of a deer panting for a little mountain stream. This poetic comparison show the incredible helplessness of the deer, and his complete dependance on the presence of God. It is a Life and Death situation!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.

Amen to your word. We certainly have to be careful where we get our water, even if it ‘looks good’. Listening to the Holy Spirit is a much needed discipline to cultivate.
