🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (9/2/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

Psalm 11

For the director of music. Of David.

1  In the Lord I take refuge.
    How then can you say to me:
    “Flee like a bird to your mountain.

2  For look, the wicked bend their bows;
    they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
    at the upright in heart.

3  When the foundations are being destroyed,
    what can the righteous do?”

4  The Lord is in his holy temple;
    the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
    his eyes examine them.

5  The Lord examines the righteous,
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.

6  On the wicked he will rain
    fiery coals and burning sulfur;
    a scorching wind will be their lot.

7  For the Lord is righteous,
    he loves justice;
    the upright will see his face.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,

How Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!

You Alone are Worthy To Be Praised and Worshiped,

For You Alone Are The One True God,

You Care for Every one of Your Creatures,

From the Mightiest Ruler of men down to the tiniest of plants.

Every seed that brings forth after its kind,

Every Person that has ever walked the earth,

Every star that explodes into a supernova,

Shrinks to a black hole and forms a galaxy,

And becomes the ocean of stars in the firmament,

Owes its very existence to You, and You Alone!

 Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance

Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Due to a certain bridge being under construction in a certain affluent town in Massachusetts, I've had to take a detour that goes by a certain house in which a heinous crime took place over three years ago. The Jury in that case is in deliberations as I type these words.

At first, the community reacted with an outpouring of grief for the three children that were murdered. They piled the lawn in front of the house with Teddy Bears, Flowers, Baby Toys and Blankets, and other makeshift memorials to express their grief.

The house was sold, and the new owner had to contend with all the stuff piling up on his lawn. He finally put a stop to it, but, by that time the focus had turned to the alleged murderer of the children, their own mother.

That's all I'm going to say about this particular case, because the Jury is still out.

Nevertheless, I still have to drive by that house six times a week, and my heart is grieved afresh every time. No way around it...The Bridge, as well as the Jury, is still OUT.

My Dad was a pioneer in in media and home theater. Years before DVD's, VCR's, HBO, Cinemax, Ted Turner, or even The Movie Channel on Cable, we had REAL movies in the Living Room. Dad had a huge screen concealed under a wooden valence, and, 20 feet away in the Dining Room, Dad had two 16mm Film Projectors. His Media Job in the Phone Company gave him access to some really great movies. Every week we marveled at what he brought home to show that weekend. Here are a few of the movies we saw:

2001-A Space Odyssey
Gone With The Wind
The Great Race
The Guns of Navarone
Lilies of the Field
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Balalaika
All of Nelson Eddy & Jeanette MacDonald movies
Rebecca,

(and one of my personal favorites)

The Bridge over The River Kwai.

That movie made so much of an impression on me that I wrote This article on Free Republic almost 30 years later: (Free Republic, 2/14/11)

One of my favorite old movies is "The Bridge on the River Kwai". In this movie, the great actor Sessue Hayakawa plays the absolutely evil Japanese Commandant of a Prison Camp in Burma, who torments and tortures British POWs and forces them into slave labor to build a railroad bridge.

The movie is based on a true story. There really was forced labor on the Japanese railway in Burma, and there really was an evil Japanese Commandant.

In the Book "In The Valley of the Kwai", the story is told for real. One of the Prisoners, a British Christian man, started a Bible Study for his fellow POWs. At first, the Commandant punished him severely, but then allowed the study to continue because he noticed that the men worked better with improved morale.

Fifty Years later, the aging British Veteran received a letter from the dying Japanese Commandant, who had been haunted by his Prisoner's behavior for the intervening years.

On his deathbed, he gave his life to Christ, and instructed that a letter be sent to the British man, if he was indeed still alive and could be located.

Personally, I struggle with this. But God's ways are not our ways, and His Tender Mercies are beyond anything I can imagine.

Thank The LORD that He gave us this Wonderful Story of the Grumpy Prophet Jonah. It tells me that my emotions on these issues are quite human and normal, and that it is possible to turn the tide even in today's outrageous situations.

Come and Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, and For Our own Beloved USA. And let us rejoice over every sinner who repents. Although that post was written during a Study of the Prophet Jonah, it is also relevant to the Study of Psalms. When we see evil all around us, it is very hard to imagine any of it turning out for good. Like David, we cry out, "How Long?" and "Why Do The Wicked Prosper?" When we are in the midst of suffering, things that look so bleak to us seem to have no redeeming value whatsoever.

This psalm tells us that, even when the "Wicked" look as though they're getting away with something, God keeps better Books than anyone on earth, and His Justice exceeds that of even the most upright Jury.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessed Is The Nation Whose God Is The LORD (Psalm 33)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

PS.

I’m due for Jury Duty, as the grace period since my last service has long past.

It would be Plymouh County.

God spared me from being on THAT Jury.

I can’t even imagine.

A saving grace is that those three lovely children are with our Lord, happy and loved. We also need to pray for the poor father. His life will be a struggle. And what about those raving loon-atic women there outside the courthouse daily screaming support for the murderous mother? They are truly a sign of the End Times.
