After the 2018 Sino-Vatican agreement “terrible things happen to Catholics” in the Fujian province, an anonymous Chinese bishop who is unaffiliated with the Chinese state church ‘Patriotic Association’, told Anthony Clark for CatholicWorldReport.com on August 23.
The bishop speaks of a “state of emergency”.
As government influence over the bishops increases, “the integrity of the Catholic faith will suffer.” To “assure the survival of China’s Church,” new bishops have been “secretly consecrated.”
The bishop says the faithful question Rome’s genuine concern for their “spiritual well-being” when the Holy See approves government-selected bishops whom they regard as too reliable to the state.
The number is unknown, but he suggested that “at least ten new bishops” were consecrated for the underground community in the Fujian province.
The faithful of the underground community have grown continually fearful that, as government influence over the bishops increases, “the integrity of the Catholic faith will suffer.” To “assure the survival of China’s Church,” new bishops have been “secretly consecrated.” The number is unknown, but he suggested that “at least ten new bishops” were ordained for the underground community there. This proliferation of surreptitious consecrations, the bishop informed me, represents only Fujian province; he did not discuss other areas of China.

Where are Tucho and Pope Leo with their declarations of "latae excommunications" for these "illicit" consecrations of faithful underground Catholic bishops?

Pope Leo, and company, have allowed Xi Jinping to illicitly consecrate communist CCPA “bishops” willy-nilly, while ignoring the plight of the true underground Catholics in Red China.

Sounds similar to the SSPX's defense of episcopal consecrations, does it not?

No, not really.
1) SSPX operates freely and already has bishops who operate freely. They do what they want no matter what any government or the Church says. The secret consecrations were done because the Communists were attempting to destroy the Church - literally arresting and in some cases killing Catholic priests and bishops. No one is arresting and killing SSPX priests or bishops anywhere in the world.
2) The secret consecrations were done to ensure the very survival of the Church in some countries. If every single SSPX priest and bishop were to disappear tomorrow, only SSPX faithful would be impacted. The Church would go on without feeling any impact whatsoever.
One final point: It should be noted that the SSPX has never produced Confessors or Martyrs that I am aware of. None apparently suffered under communism in the 1970s or 80s. None have tried to minister to Catholics in extremely dangerous places even. In Nigeria, SSPX has 5 or 6 chapels - all in well protected areas far from where Catholics are suffering martyrdom on an almost daily basis. One of their chapels is actually located in a government building. That seems pretty safe to me.
