🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (7/8/26)[Prayer]

Personalities
1 Samuel 7:1-17
7Â And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the Lord.
2Â And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.
3Â And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4Â Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the Lord only.
5Â And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the Lord.
6Â And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the Lord. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
7Â And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8Â And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the Lord our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
9Â And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the Lord: and Samuel cried unto the Lord for Israel; and the Lord heard him.
10Â And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the Lord thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
11Â And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.
12Â Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.
13Â So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14Â And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15Â And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16Â And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.
17Â And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the Lord.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,

How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!

How Majestic and Glorious,

How Wonderful,

and How Pure and Holy!

How Righteous and Just is Your Holy Word,

and How Exciting it is to Taste of it,

So Perfect,

and Sweet,

So Fair and True!

From The Exquisite Sweetness

and Orderliness of the Honeycomb

or the DNA Molecule,

to the Breathless Expanse

of The Canvas of Your Heavens,

Your Creation Sings of Your Glory

in a Never Ending Chorus of Praise!

 Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Most of us, having been raised in the Anglo-sphere, can't hear the name "Ebeneezer" without imagining the name "Scrooge" following it. I wonder why Dickens chose this particular name from this episode in Samuel's life. Could it be that Dickens chose the name because it rhymed with "geezer", a descriptive term for a crotchety old man? Could he have been thinking of "freezer", which would describe Bob Cratchet's miserable hovel when the last piece of coal was consumed in the stove? It certainly couldn't have been because of the name's original Biblical meaning, right?
It isn't until the end of the story that we read about Scrooge's Redemption. His night of horror, with ghosts, memories, visions, and nightmares come to a New Morning, and Ebeneezer becomes a New Creature. Despite the wild and crazy characters Scrooge has encountered, perhaps it was The Lord Who orchestrated it.
That's what "Ebeneezer" means:
"The LORD Was Our Help All Along".
I'll never see "A Christmas Carol" the same way again!😇

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.
