🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (7/1/26)[Prayer]

Personalities

1 Samuel 2:12-18

12 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord.

13 And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;

14 And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.

15 Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.

16 And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

17 Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.

18 But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your Name!

You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise and Worship,

You Alone Are The One True God

Omnipotent,

Omniscient,

and Omnipresent,

Yet You Condescend to touch the Lives

of those who love You!

Have Mercy Upon Us,

Oh Gracious LORD,

In Our Pilgrimage of Praise,

As We Offer to You the Fruit of Our Lips,

The Sacrifice of Praise and Thanksgiving.

 Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance

Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Right after we read Hannah's magnificent prayer, we read about the High Priest Eli's two abominable sons. Who was to blame for the little boy Samuel growing up in this environment? Certainly, one can't blame Hannah. She believed that the Tabernacle was the House of God, and little Samuel would be safe there. Was it Eli's fault? He seemed to be clueless and permissive, but was he evil? I don't think so. I do have to say that he wasn't attentive to the Voice of God. He didn't recognize Hannah's prayer when he saw it, and accused her of drunkenness. We will see other instances where Eli's failure to take action will lead to his own destruction.

I submit that the two sons were responsible for their own sin, which included sexual immorality, corruption, greed, lust, and taking something that BELONGED to God.

The Torah forbade eating meat with the blood and fat still in it. The blood and fat belonged to God, and so, in that era, the meat was boiled until all the blood and fat were cooked out of it. The two sons of Eli evidently preferred their steaks medium-rare with a nice slab of fat still attached, sweet, red, and juicy! If they wanted to eat that kind of meat, they should have gone to a steakhouse, NOT the Temple of the LORD.

Not only did they bully the attendants who were serving in the Tabernacle, they seduced women who had come there to pray. All of this was going on under Eli's nose. Either Eli chose not to see what was going on, or didn't care what they were doing. My own opinion is that he knew what was happening, and was ashamed, but so ineffectual that he'd lost all authority over his sons. They had certainly lost respect of their father, and also of their Heavenly Father, Who sees all.

There was somebody else who saw what was going on. That little kid in the new robe and the linen ephod, lurking around the tent, sleeping on a mat next to the Ark of the Covenant (who does THAT?), and praying all the time. The one whose Mama came every year with a new robe ...)they grow up so fast!)...and whom Daddy Eli seems to love more than his own sons.

Never mind...he's just a kid. What does he know? He won't tell anybody!

Uh Huh. Just Wait.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen to your word and prayer. Seems like the little ones and brand new Christians are more attuned to what the Holy Spirit is saying. We drift and get distracted as we journey along. A spiritual battle for sure. Kind of like an octopus entrapping our mind, eh.

What Is an “Octopus Spirit”? (And How To Know If You Have One)

Yes...I think that “drift” is known as “Losing one’s First Love”.

Baby Christians, and indeed, Baby Humans, are so full of JOY.

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.
