For Catholic voters, Trump’s record may be catching up with him

Catholic Trump voters are not a univocal group, and on many issues, they reflect the same concerns as other Americans.

First, there are pro-life Catholics for whom abortion is the most important issue...Trump’s appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court allowed for the overturning of Roe v. Wade... But in politics, it does not matter what you did for me yesterday, but rather, what are you doing for me today?

He has abandoned the pro-life movement, removing the anti-abortion plank from the Republican Party’s 2024 national platform...

The platform now supports IVF, which pro-life advocates oppose because it results in the destruction of unused fertilized eggs. Trump even reneged on his promise and gave Title X funding to Planned Parenthood, over the strong objections of pro-life advocates.

Pro-life Catholics will never vote Democratic, but they may stay home or vote for third-party candidates...

So, because he is continuing the abortion policies he has always had suddenly conservative Catholics are going to give the RATs the win?

There’s so-called Catholics who are actually post-moderns and woke-liberals and socialists, but claim to be Catholic because they remember their devout Irish or Italian grandmother. This is the majority of MSM’s “Catholics.”

And then there’s Catholics who actually follow and study the teachings of the Church.

Catholic voters usually vote for the pro-abortion party but Trump needs to figure out how to keep them in play.

Ridiculous story

Yes

“There are pro- life Catholics and …”

And what? Pro abortion Catholics? Ya. The excommunicated

Do they count here? No. That’s not a voting bloc

The Title X funding was guaranteed by Biden admin, Biden an actual Catholic, having received the sacraments

IVF. It’s abhorrent. It’s not the president’s job to maintain the precepts of the Catholic Church

He got rid of Roe V Wade as it was not based on the constitution- see Men in Black, Mark Levin

The pope was selected quickly by cardinals because of his personal hatred of President Trump.

The Pope subordinates Christianity to a reactionary contempt for the politics of Trump.

It is completely unethical and anti theological.

There are hit pieces and then there are wish pieces. This one is latter. No way are Catholics going to turn away from this guy unless there is a viable alternative. There isn’t.

The economy, illegal immigration, crime, getting the price of oil and inflation heading back down, not side cultural issues, will be the bread and butter issues going into the primaries.

The rest are issues some pressure group is using for self-promotion.
