🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/16/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities

Deuteronomy 11:1-25

11 Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway..

2 And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the Lord your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,.

3 And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;.

4 And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the Lord hath destroyed them unto this day;.

5 And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;.

6 And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:.

7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the Lord which he did..

8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;.

9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey..

10 For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:.

11 But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:.

12 A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year..

13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,.

14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil..

15 And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full..

16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;.

17 And then the Lord's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you..

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes..

19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up..

20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:.

21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth..

22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;.

23 Then will the Lord drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves..

24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be..

25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the Lord your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

( The King James Version)

Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,

One of the strangest Public Transportation lines in America connects two neighborhoods of Boston (Dorchester and Mattapan) while passing through an entirely different town that's not part of Boston (Milton MA). Although the Trolleys on this line aren't as old as the Cable Cars in San Francisco, they are unique in being nearly 80 years old, maintained carefully, and still running daily as workhorses, not as a Tourist Attraction.

I've recently read that the reason the cars have never been replaced is that the bridges and tracks would all have to be replaced at enormous cost to accommodate new ones. Not only that, but it would have to be paid for and coordinated between two municipalities that have not always been agreement about how to do things

And so, the Circa 1948 Trolleys lumber along, through little stations along the Neponset River,

Here's a Ten Minute Video taken recently:

Ride The Trolley.

I got such a wave of nostalgia watching that video, as I rode that line many times during my childhood. Mom and I would dress up, walk to Mattapan Square, take the Trolley, and then change at Ashmont to go "Downtown". It was a BIG DEAL. The only thing that pegged this video as "recent" were the People at the end, on the platform at Ashmont, staring at their Smart Phones.

Otherwise, it was exactly as I remember it.

Not all the lore connected with that line is a happy memory. When I was about eight, a tragic disaster occurred that involved the whole neighborhood. A gentleman who had lost his entire family in the Holocaust came to America and put down roots in Mattapan. He remarried, started a new family, ran a local business and was a popular man in the mixed (Jewish, Irish, Italian, etc) neighborhood. One day, his wife and daughter had gone downtown and returned by way of the Trolley. He drove to Mattapan Station to pick them up, and suddenly a truck came out of nowhere forcing his car to the sidewalk, killing his wife and daughter. The tragedy was incomprehensible to our little community. The whole neighborhood, Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant, joined together to do what they could for this poor man. I was so young at the time, but I still remember it.

Moses was heartbroken when he found out he would not be crossing the Jordan. He tried to argue with God about it (Deuteronomy 3), but God put a stop to that. "No More of This!" God said to Moses. I proposed a few reasons why it had to be this way, but I can't imagine that any of them would make Moses feel any better about it. Moses struggled with God, but his biggest struggle was with his own People, waxing nostalgic about their miserable life of slavery.

God tells Moses that, in Egypt, the fields had to be watered by the outmoded and ancient irrigation device known as a shaduf. Bucket after bucket of water had to be lifted out of the Nile, all day long, in the heat, just to water the fields. In the Promised Land, God Himself would water the fields with RAIN. There was no need to be nostalgic about the ""Good" Ol' Days.

Maybe the "Good Ol' Days were not that good to begin with.

I can still remember my struggle with God over that poor man in Mattapan. I have never forgotten him.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Indeed. It was very hard for me to process that when I was a little girl of eight.

The everlasting peace will come, soon enough in God's Immense Plan, as He had Isaiah write down:

=======

saiah 66:10-24 (AV):

10Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
11That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
12For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
13As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
14And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
15For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
18For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
19And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
20And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
21And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.
22For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
