Joni Lamb, the president and co-founder of Daystar Television Network, one of the world’s largest Christian television networks, has passed away.

She was 65.

“Prior to her recent back injury, Lamb had been dealing with serious health matters that she chose to face head on and in private. The back injury compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical situation than anyone had anticipated. Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team and the prayers of so many around the world, her condition worsened in the last few days,” Daystar said in a statement.

“Joni founded Daystar Television Network alongside her late husband Marcus in 1993. Under her leadership, Daystar grew into one of the largest Christian television networks in the world, reaching viewers in nearly every country through satellite, cable, streaming, and digital platforms. She spent nearly four decades on-air and behind the scenes, building a ministry that brought the Gospel into millions of homes,” the statement continued.

“With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning. We know that she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord,” Daystar wrote on X.

CBS News has more:

She spent nearly 40 years on‑air and in leadership, shaping the network’s ministry and global reach.

The network is based in Bedford, a North Texas suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth.

The Daystar Board of Directors praised her faith, leadership and legacy in a statement.

“Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning,” the Daystar board said. “We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”

Her family is requesting prayers and privacy.

“Daystar’s mission does not change today. Previously, Lamb worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership team was in place so that the ministry would continue uninterrupted. Programming will proceed as scheduled, with on-air tributes to follow in the coming days,” the statement continued.

AL.com noted:

Lamb and her late husband, Marcus, launched their TV ministry with their first TV station in Montgomery, Alabama in 1985, WMCF-TV, called “45 Alive.” They sold that in 1990 and later moved to a larger station in Dallas and launched KMPX-TV 29 in 1993. They added other stations and launched Daystar TV Network in 1998.

Marcus died in 2021 after 39 years of marriage. Joni remarried in 2023 to Dr. Doug Weiss, who joined her as a co-host on Daystar.

I think she’s involved in the cover-up of child sexual assault.

Only God knows that for sure, of course. May she rest in peace.

I starteda relationship withJesus through christian TV in 2004 after growing up catholic, then decades of wilderness. I learned alot of good about God and alot about people self deluded in how they attempted to follow Christ, including myself at times.
No one is perfect except Jesus.
I admire anyone’s sincere surrender journey, since it doesnt happen all at once, or for every instant of life.
Joni and Marcus, i didnt watch them much but i did watch movies and things on Daystar.
No TV last decade so havent watched much of anything.
