Generation Z is increasingly identifying with the Roman Catholic Church, moving away from the "spiritual but not religious" label that defined previous years. This conversion boom is being fueled by a search for moral order and ancient traditions, as reported by Fox News.
Data from the Barna Group indicates that Gen Z Christians are now attending church more frequently than Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers. This shift, once considered a temporary post-pandemic fluke, has evolved into a significant cultural movement.
In 2025, the typical Gen Z churchgoer attended services nearly two weekends a month. This figure represents the highest level since tracking began and marks a 100% increase from the levels recorded in 2020.
The trend is particularly visible among young men, who have become a pivotal demographic in recent cultural and political cycles. A Gallup poll from April 2025 highlights a sharp rise in the importance of religion for this group.
Approximately 42% of young men now report that religion is "very important" to them, a significant jump from 28% in 2023. For the first time in recent history, young men have overtaken young women in religious devotion in the United States. Urban Centers as Epicenters of Revival
Major urban centers are witnessing the heart of this religious revival. In New York City, parish communities are struggling to accommodate the influx of new converts who are filling churches to capacity.
At St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich Village, the congregation has expanded to four times its previous size. A recent 6 p.m. Sunday Mass was described by observers as a crowded event where latecomers had to use folding chairs or stand in the foyer.
"Every inch of pew space was filled, mostly with young adults," a report noted of the scene. Some attendees even sat on balcony steps to participate in the 90-minute service. Social and Lifestyle Integration
The social aspect of the faith is also growing, with events like the "Pizza to Pews" meetup at St. Joseph's seeing attendance double in just three weeks. Some participants travel from as far as Boston to attend these gatherings.
Social media has also played a role through the "Trad" lifestyle movement. Isabella Orlando, 23, launched the "Holy Girl Walk" in Central Park, which saw participation triple after a video of the group praying the Rosary went viral.
The Rev. Boniface Endorf, pastor at St. Joseph’s, views this surge as a reaction to the perceived emptiness of modern digital life.
"People are looking for more than career and consumption," Endorf said. "What does it mean to grow up? They’re looking for guidance."
Many young Catholics are also showing a preference for the "Traditional Latin Mass" and formal liturgies. They describe this as a counter-cultural experience that contrasts with the progressive values found in modern academia and corporate environments.

This is being driven at the parish level. The pope sure isn’t leading the revival. Our parish is growing, but then our priest isn’t woke or political. Just the Mass and homilies based on the Gospel.
“In 2025, the typical Gen Z churchgoer attended services nearly two weekends a month.”
So, like, 5 weekends every three months?
But seriously, best wishes to them. Go looking for “tradition and moral order,” or community or aesthetics or structure or peace or a counter-cultural in-group ... and you might find Jesus Christ and his Father and their Spirit and be transformed.
The RC Church has in Latin America for a long time been blatantly Marxist.
And in this country Catholic Charities has been and continues to be extremely supportive of illegal immigration.
This is the elephant in the room being ignored.
I think we need more of that - the priest to focus on the solemnities of the mass and for homilies that challenge us on our faith
Since the Truth is no one knows God but Yeshua, our Jewish King. It makes the most sense to think for yourself..traditions, rituals are dead..Yeshua lives..seek Him, no one knows what you need, but in your walk with Yeshua H will enlighten you. the churches won’t like it, the government won’t either because God’s way is not man’s and no fake
Vicar has a clue for you.
Think for yourselves..no salvation in tradition, languages, priest, or ruruals...salvation comes from your personal walk with God, Yeshuas ultimate gift..

You say there is no salvation in tradition or languages, yet:
- The Language: You use the name Yeshua. That is a tradition of language. If you didn’t have the tradition of the Hebrew language passed down through generations of “dead” rituals, you wouldn’t even know His name.
- The Source: You know about Yeshua because of a Book. That Book (the Bible) was compiled, preserved, and translated by the very “churches” and “priests” you say are clue-less. To trust the Bible but hate the Church that gave it to you is like trusting the water but hating the well.
You say traditions are “dead,” but the Bible Yeshua gave us says something very different. St. Paul—a man who definitely had a “personal walk” with the Lord—didn’t tell people to just “think for themselves.”
- “So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.” (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
If tradition is “dead,” why did the Apostles command us to hold onto it for our lives? Tradition isn’t a cage; it’s the anchor that keeps you from drifting into your own ego.
You mention a “fake Vicar,” but Yeshua Himself was the one who established a visible authority.
- In Matthew 16:18-19, Yeshua didn’t give “keys to the kingdom” to everyone so they could go off and think for themselves. He gave them to one man (Peter).
- He gave him the power to “bind and loose.” That is legal, authoritative language.
- Yeshua knew that without a “Vicar” (an earthly representative), His followers would split into thousands of different sects—which is exactly what has happened to those who “think for themselves.”
BTW, aces - the New Testament knows nothing of a Christian who isn’t part of a visible, sacramental Body.
- Yeshua lives? Yes. And He lives in His Body, which is the Church (Colossians 1:18).
- No Priests? The Bible describes “Presbyters” (Priests) anointing the sick and offering prayers (James 5:14).
- No Rituals? Yeshua’s ultimate gift was the Last Supper—the most profound ritual in human history. He didn’t say “think about me”; He said, “Do this in memory of me”
net-net, aces, when you say “no one knows what you need but you,” you’re making yourself the center of the universe. That’s not the Gospel; that’s modern individualism with a “Yeshua” sticker on it.
The real Yeshua didn’t come to tell us to “think for ourselves”; He came to tell us to “Follow Him”—and He leads us straight into the Church He built on the Rock, rituals and all.
It makes the most sense to think for yourself..traditions, rituals are dead.Thank you for correcting Paul for us …
I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. (1 Cor 11:2, NABRE.)
Our TLM is what el popo is activitly trying to stomp out.
Leo wants SSPX under the bus.
Indeed ... the Mass is about our Risen Lord; it's not the priest's (or "minister of music's", or "liturgists", or ...) playground. Physical actions are important ... offering the Mass facing the Altar puts the priest in the position of leading the people toward God. Offering the Mass facing the congregation makes the priest the star of the show ...

that’s pretty rich coming from you, a self-proclaimed “Jewish Gnostic” - do you even have any idea what gnosticism is about? if you did, you would know that it is the antithesis of Judaism.
Have you ever read before “thinking for yourself”?
Yup. “Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches, try to find Jesus on your own.”
A whole generation wasted their lives trying that route.
And all they have to do is accept evolution, adopt radical nineteenth century German criticism, and hate Israel.
No, that's for Noahides like you to do
Maimonides expressly forbids Gentiles from ‘innovating a religion’ (Hilkhot Melakhim 10:9). By creating a ‘Noahide movement’ with its own identity, Noahides are violating the very Rabbinic authority they claim to respect.
Traditional Judaism teaches that the formal status of a Noahide (Ger Toshav) cannot even be granted today because the Jubilee year is not in effect. ,p> If a Noahide keeps these laws out of ‘logic’ or personal ‘search for truth’—rather than a total submission to the Mosaic revelation as interpreted by a Sanhedrin—the Rambam says they have no share in the world to come.

Just where did you get the idea that Noahides accept evolution, practice nineteenth century German criticism, and hate Israel?
Maimonides expressly forbids Gentiles from ‘innovating a religion’ (Hilkhot Melakhim 10:9). By creating a ‘Noahide movement’ with its own identity, Noahides are violating the very Rabbinic authority they claim to respect.
True. Noahides are forbidden to adopt Jewish practices, observe Shabbat or Jewish holidays, or to create new practices or holidays, even if based on the Laws of Noah. We are bound strictly by the Seven Laws (though they're a little more complicated than some think). We are allowed to study anything and everything connected to the Seven Laws, to read the TaNa"KH (with a peshat commentary), and study the Mishnah (but not Gamara'). However, we are allowed to "delve deeply" into the first eleven chapters of Genesis because they are universal.
I am not part of a "community." I attended a conference once but there is no Noahide "church" in existence with any sort of order of service. All non-Jews are Noahides. It's just that most haven't figured that out yet.
A ger toshav isn't just a Noahide. It's a Noahide who makes a declaration before a Jewish court so he can live in the Land of Israel. This cannot be done now because it can only be done when the laws of Yovel (jubilee) are fully in effect, which they are not. I am unaware of any obligation to make such a declaration outside the Land of Israel, though there may be (we will find out when Mashiach comes). Actually there are some groups who accept such declarations today but I don't participate in them.
And you're right; a Noahide must accept the Laws of Noah explicitly on the authority of G-d in order to be considered "pious" (rather than just "wise"). Accepting the Law without accepting the Law-Giver is nonsense.
And you're also right that we must accept the authority of the Oral Torah, the last Sanhedrion, and the authentic Rabbinate. As a Catholic opponent of "sola scriptura," I fail to see why you object to this.
Therefore, we all need to remember to police ourselves.
Some folks have forgotten their manners.
You need to do better.
Mind your own business.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Hopefully when Pappy “excommunicates” the SSPX, the younger people who love tradition will flock to them.
Stop lying for a fake churches and you’d have no problem
When the church cant stand criticism its fake...
Got your Jewish King...
Poor baby waaaa..waaaaaa...there going to hell what lies...
I have the right before Gods throne to declare truths as see them...maybe pope spear someone else..
And those that think they know him are worse liars...
