I think Sasse is ultimately a good guy, but not suited for his role, which he probably realized and left.

He’s an academic and intellectual. Not a politician by nature and he cares about theories and ideas. That why he left the senate to become a university president.

Trump is the ultimate practical guy who only interested in results.

And that’s why he probably didn’t like Trump very much.

Ben Sasse is one of seven Republican senators to vote to convict Trump of incitement of insurrection in his second impeachment trial.

There's nothing "good guy" about someone who joined a cabal of anti-American collectivists, using fraudulent charges, not just against Trump but against We The People.
