Twelve years ago, the former Anglican said, she happened upon an episode of Catholic Answers Live, the radio call-in show in which apologists field questions from believers and nonbelievers alike (listen on EWTN Radio).
“Never in a million years was I considering becoming Catholic until I, by a stroke of the Holy Spirit, heard an episode of Catholic Answers Live,” she told the Register, explaining that “many of my family prejudices against Catholicism were exploded.”
She soon became a daily listener, and then an active supporter of the ministry, attending galas and conferences put on by Catholic Answers. A couple of years later, she was received into the Catholic Church.

I would have paid money to watch a Catholic debate with John MacArthur.
I’m Protestant. And I see a move from Anglican to Catholic as improvement. (original post)
It woudl be interesting, roving - though the article is not about MacArthur nor about his flavor of beliefs.
in fact the article doesn’t say anything about non-Catholic beliefs, not even the converts previous belief system
I understand there are still - in the USA - some very traditional Anglican churches. And in Africa.
We all must learn from them and how the slide began - a cautionary tale. And pray for them as well of course
I didn’t find any debate he participated in, except for this link - for you to read in leisure. If you wish, we could set up a separate thread on that - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X45ud92VsE - as this is NOT relevant to this thread
Mac,R.C.Sproul and John Piper
Etc
Etc
Etc
It’s Very Relavant to
Counter Unaversalists.
Correction....
ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH.
What other “Christian” religion can you ask for forgiveness through a human, and actually are encouraged to sin since you can just go to a booth and admit it?
Precisely: the Church Universal is the “catholic church”.
But the Anglicans are one of those "Protestant" "churches" that promote modern day hedonism like child sacrifice, homosexuality, and gender trans. A move away from that is a good thing.
The Holy Roman Catholic Church
Is Bullying this Site .
I Will Not Comply.
I love the People But will not
Be Bullied.
More articles are posted by Catholic that are Negative against it.
The banter is Healthy but ...
The Anglicans are the Brits, right?
I would have paid to see MacArthur debate Scott Hahn, a Protestant converted to Catholic who knew the Scriptures forwards and backwards, history, context, languages, etc. Many Catholic apologists would have debated MacArthur. Did he offer? Did they offer?
Correct.
Help me out, BRB. You say you won’t be ‘bullied,’ but you previously noted that Catholics play the ‘victim card’ when the going gets tough. Which is it?
It’s interesting—just a few days ago you said Catholics ‘play the victim card’ when challenged. Yet here you are, claiming to be bullied and refusing to ‘comply’ with a discussion.
Is it bullying to simply enquire if you have been saved in the Biblical way—which the New Testament describes as Sacramental (Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21)?
As the Apostles taught that Baptism saves (1 Peter 3:21) and the Eucharist is Life (John 6), pointing that out isn’t an attack on you; it’s a defense of the Word. Are we ‘bullying’ you, or is the Text just challenging your traditions?
Btw, Mac refused to participated in any formal, moderated public debate. He consistently declined or ignored invitations to debate.
The same for the other two you mentioned brb, In the mid-1990s, Catholic apologist Scott Hahn and his colleague reached out to S to invite him to a formal debate on Sola Fide (Faith Alone). Sproul declined, with his staff stating he was “too busy” to participate in such a debate.
So, they were given opportunities, but didn’t take up the offer.
They never seem to get anything right ;^)
Bikkuri, perhaps some reading would help you?
Besides the Catholic, you have the sacrament of Confession among the Orthodox and hey, even the Lutherans Augsburg confession and the Anglican Common book of prayer have provisions for private confession and absolution by a minister.
