Genesis 1:11,12 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
By that Gen 1:11,12 God put a system or operation in effect. Leviticus 26:4 says, Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. That same process takes place in the realm of the spiritual in man. Genesis 1:27,28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Notice, the first thing God said was, "Be Fruitful" which mean to bring forth. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Notice, the wording (it's the same process). Anytime you go over something in your mind or with your words The Bible calls that watering, and increase comes with watering. In John 14:1,27 Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled," that means it's in your hands. And one way to let not your heart be troubled is what Jesus also said, "Take heed what you hear." Because, hearing is as we just saw in the spiritual is planting and watering something.
So, whatever you continually hear there will be an increase of it either in faith or fear. That's why Romans 10:17 says, Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. But, also fear comes by hearing. Fear is just a negative form of faith. In 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 it says, (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Notice, at the root of every stronghold is a thought. How does a thought go from a thought to a stronghold, by watering it, by going over something in your mind over and over. We all have worried about something, did you choose to worry, no, you started off with a thought. And the more attention you gave to it the more it increased. Notice, the process- a thought if you do not stop it at the thought, when it comes into your mind and you keep giving it your attention the next step happens (it will exalt itself). In other words it will grow without your consent nor co-operation. If you continue to give it your attention it will grow into the next step (an imagination). It will produce an image in your mind. And if it continues to grow then it will become (a stronghold). When the stronghold is formed that's when that thought has captured your mind.
See, instead of you taking it captive it has taken you captive. And now you have to fight against it, but you have weapons that are mighty to fight against them and get the victory. Understand what's happening, God said, "Be Fruitful" which means to bring forth. Bring forth means bring from the inside-out. Whatever you allow to settle inside is going to seek expression outside/in your life. What's happening is what you have taken into your heart, is like a seed and the more you allow it to be watered the more it will increase. Remember, the same system in the natural works the same way in the spiritual. And just like in the natural if a seed goes in something is going to come out. So, when you take something into your heart it starts working to be seen in your life. The heart of man works just like the earth, Jesus said that in Mark 4 The Parable Of The Sower. He said a sower went out to sow (now this is on the spiritual side). And in verse 20 he said, And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. So, apparently what he took in his heart there was some seen evidence in his life. How else do you judge fruit except you see it. So, what this man took in his heart resulted in something being seen in his life.
When God said, "Be Fruitful/Bring Forth" that was not a suggestion it's what you have been empowered to do. So, when you take something into your heart it's working to bring that from the inside-out into your life. Back in Leviticus where it says, the land shall yield her increase, that's what your heart is doing. God put increase in your heart so what's planted and watered it will yield it's increase. That's why Jesus said, "Take heed what you hear" because hearing is planting and watering. That's why Proverbs 4:23 says, Guard your heart with all diligence. At one time man didn't know evil, that's what the scripture says. In Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil. If he became that means he wasn't before. How could he know evil when everything God made was good. So, now wrong things are going into the heart of man that God never intended so now it can be a force against you instead of a force for you. Joshua 1:8 shows it on God's side, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Notice, you walk in outside what you put inside. Rom. 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach
See, if you get into that cycle of the more you think on something the more it grows and the more it grows the more you think on it and on and on, it can get to the point it's like you can't find the brakes for it because it has taken over. We all live by how we think. So, if that stronghold is your center point of thinking then you'll base your decisions and actions based on the stronghold, now it's running you. Now, you find yourself living according to the stronghold because it has become your fixed way of thinking. But, it can be changed, thank God. That's why Romans 12:2 says, 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. So, the mind can be renewed and it can be renewed to the word. Matthew 15:13 says, But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Everything that has been planted not in line with the word can be uprooted by the word. Notice, Jermiah 1:9,10 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. 10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
So, the word is what you can use to uproot that stronghold. Put the word on your mind, put the word in your mouth and it will get in your heart. Romans 10:8 says, But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. And the word has the power to save your soul, James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. That word engrafted means implanted, and the way the word is implanted is by hearing and the best way to hear it is out of your own mouth. Your thoughts are connected to your heart, Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. So, the words you take in your heart will affect your thoughts. That's why Proverbs 4:23 says, Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. That word issues means boundaries/borders. Notice, the borders/boundaries are not outside they are inside. In Mark 9 a man came to Jesus to get help for his son and he said to Jesus, "If thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. And notice Jesus response, Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Notice, what Jesus was saying, It's not an outside issue, it's not about me, it's a heart(inside) issue. He had the ability so that wasn't the issue, the issue was what can you believe and that's a heart(inside) issue.
As you go about your everyday business, seeds are being sown in your heart, because you are constantly hearing something. Now, here's the thing you don't always know or feel when something has been planted. It can be unaware to you and if you keep hearing that seed is growing and the next thing you know you got this fear and don't know where it came from, something was planted. That's why Jesus said, "Take heed what you hear," watch what you give your attention to. The more focus you give something the more space you allow it to take up in your mind. And once you accept it as true you'll hold on to it. Because, nobody in their right mind wants to be wrong on purpose. So, you'll hold on to what you think is right. And you can be wrong as two left shoes. You'll start doing things based on that thought pattern, and think everybody else is wrong. Because, as long as you see something as true you can't see that you're wrong. One translation of Proverbs 4:23 is, Everything you do flows out of it. Well, everything starts with your thinking. If your thinking is off, your believing will be off, and if your believing is off your actions will be off. Then when people find themselves in a mess that they have made they look for outside solutions. No, the first place you have to start is inside. And sometimes people will try to fix somebody else and they are the one that's jacked up, but they don't see it. It's always the other persons fault. Because, you have accepted something as truth you can't see when you wrong.
The scripture says in the last days people are going to call good-evil and evil-good. One reason is people are going to accept lies and deception as truth so to them good will be evil and evil will be good. Lies and deception are going to be preached and taught so much that people are going to accept them. Not understanding the principle that seeds are being sown and if you keep hearing it it's going to have effect on you. And if you don't know how to counter it or cast it down then you will be open to deception. People get hooked on pornography because they sit there and watch that stuff not understanding seeds are being sown and the more you watch it/water it those seeds of perversion are growing. Now, just watching it at home is not enough, now you trying to watch it on your computer at work not knowing they are monitoring what's being done on their system. Now, you've put your job in jeopardy, and it's all a matter of the seeds you allowed to be planted in your heart. Your eyes and ears are gateways to your heart. And people think it's no harm, ya, until you get to the place where you can't stop. Until it becomes a stronghold and it starts leading you around. Until it's all you think about and imagine. What you continually allow your mind to think on and imagine is going to seek expression in your life. Look at Jeremiah 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
Jeremiah 9:13,14 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; 14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart. Last Jeremiah 23:17 They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. What you allow to settle inside is going to seek expression on the outside/in your life in some form, some word or deed. For instance we know the famous words of Jesus Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. What is that, that's what's in your heart being expressed in your life. Jesus didn't say it's a good chance that it will, he said it does it, it's an automatic response. What's in your heart will be known by what you speak, because there will be an expression of what's in your heart. That's what Jesus was talking about in Mark 4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad, and people have thought he was talking about keeping secrets. In a way that could be applied, but what he is saying is you can't hide who you really are. At some point the real you is going to come out, you can pretend for awhile, but in the end in the right circumstance people are going to see who you really are inside.
Your heart even has effects on your body- Proverbs 17:22 says, A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. See, your inside has effects on your outside. Proverbs 4:20-22My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. That word health is translated as medicine, healing, remedy, cure. God is endeavoring to get his word in you, in your heart. Because, God says his word is life and health and the way it's imparted to your flesh is the implanted word in your heart. When the word is implanted/when it enters your heart it will impart it's contents and manifest according to the word you take in. So look at that, what you put in your heart can bring healing to your flesh. Because, your inside shapes your outside, your inside effects your outside. So, sickness is not just about the body. The problem can be in your body, but the answer can come through your heart, by the word. For instance, Abraham the father of faith, God promised him that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars, but his body was dead and his wife's womb was dead. What did God do, He changed their names from Abram-high father to Abraham-father of a multitude and from Saria-my princess to Sarah-princess of nations.
Why, it says his body was dead and her womb was dead, but the word is life. So, they were to call themselves according to the word, because the word is life and for that life to be imparted the word has to be implanted in your heart and what you put in your mouth will get in your heart. And when that life was imparted it manifested according to the word they took in. And the word will still do that today. The scriptures calls the heart of man ground and the word of God seed, when a seed is planted it releases it's contents. In fact, that's the only way it releases it's contents, by planting. You see in Acts 14:7-10 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. The word brought healing to that man's body, the word that entered his heart imparted the healing. Healing can come through you, God sends his word and when you receive it into your heart it will work it's way to your body. He sent his word and healed them. Your heart is essential to your life. And a lot of your life is coming out of your heart. If it wasn't essential why would God tell you to guard it with all diligence. He tells you to guard it because your heart is the gateway into your life.
It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
