Whenever a man or woman, boy or girl comprehends what Almighty God has done for them in love and God has hold of their hearts, the child of God (John 1:12) can only seek the same selfless agape love for others in SPIRIT and TRUTH (John 4:24). Jesus stated that by this action (i.e., showing agape love) the World will know that He loves us (John 13:34-35; John 17:21-23).
In marriages where agape love is applied in the relationship, please try to tell me how that marriage will not thrive in such an environment with regard to companionship, intimacy, etc.? The closer the husband and wife grow to Almighty God in spirit and truth, the closer they will grow to each other, producing a strong and healthy relationship in every way (Eph. 5:21-33). That was God’s design from the beginning (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:4-6 ). Eros love can NEVER move and motivate in this manner. Just look at the divorce rate in America! If only America - and the rest of the world - would follow Almighty God’s basic formulas for life and living, we would all be blessed beyond anyone’s imagination (James 3:18). But the vast majority of people will not and lose all the benefits and bliss in their refusal (Psalm 106:14-15; Rom. 1:24, Rev. 22:14-15).
Almighty God’s agape love for you and me is nothing less than God Himself and His perfect will in RIGHTEOUSNESS for the object of His love.
This Valentine’s Day, don’t get caught up in all the “Eros hype.” Fear (reverence) Almighty God and enjoy (worship) Him in SPIRIT and TRUTH (Prov. 1:7; John 4:24; James 3:8). Show those whom you truly love the agape love of Almighty God (1 John 4:11, 21). Almighty God’s love truly satisfies the famished soul and brings true joy to the human heart (Psalm 16:11; John 17:13; 1 Peter 1:8).
Do you know the agape LOVE of Almighty God that is found ONLY in His Son Jesus Christ? God so AGAPE LOVED you that he sent His Son to pay the price for your transgressions against the RIGHTEOUS standards of Almighty God (Rom. 10:4; 1 Peter 3:18). Again, my dear friend, I do not know how to say anything more wonderful than that! The one true God and Creator of the Universe truly loves you (1 John 4:10)!
Don’t be stupid and follow Cupid. Follow the One who AGAPE LOVED you and GAVE Himself to you (Gal. 2:20). Place your trust in Him today. You will NEVER be the same – no, never!
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
Agape is the only truly selfless love around.
