🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(2/10/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Genesis 24:50-67
50 Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the Lord: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good. 51 Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the Lord hath spoken.
52 And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth.
53 And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
54 And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.
55 And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.
56 And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.
57 And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.
58 And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.
59 And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.
60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
61 And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.
62 And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country.
63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.
65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.
66 And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.
67 And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD,
Our God,
King of The Universe
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient,
and Omnipresent,
There is No One Like You.
Your Name is Holy,
Blessed,
and Hallowed.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

I believe that, in the 16 years that I've been doing this Thread, I've only shared somebody else's story two times. There was the Legend of St. Augustine and the Boy at the Beach (to ponder the Trinity), and the one about the Ladies' Bible Study Group visiting the Silversmith (to Illustrate the Refiner's Fire). Both times I cited that the stories weren't my own, because I never, ever want to take credit for someone's else's work. That's called Plagiarism, and, although politicians do it all the time, I won't! (Or at least I'll TRY not to do it!)
However, I'm not above sharing my own stories more than once. Sometimes the Story is relevant to one topic, sometimes to another. The following was a story I wrote to illustrate Ephesians 6, The Full Armor of God. Some of you, who've been here a long time, might remember it:
Jimmy (not his real name), a Marine, and FBI Agent in New York City, adored Jazz. Even though his job was very demanding, as the NYC Bureau was right in the middle of investigating the New York Crime Families, Jimmy managed at least once a week to take his beautiful wife Agnes to Harlem, dressed to the nines, to hear authentic Jazz. They went to all the legendary night clubs and heard musicians who are now considered "Giants" in the History of American Music. Sometimes he and his wife were the only Caucasian People in the club, but the musicians and staff knew who he was, that he was FBI, and that he LOVED and respected their music. Jimmy and Agnes were "regulars", always resplendent, he in his tux and she in her elegant glittery gown with a long train trailing behind her.
One night, Jimmy and Agnes made their usual grand entrance at The Cotton Club. As they paused briefly on the stairway, a musician who was a bit late for the gig came running down the stairs with his trumpet. Both feet got tangled in Agnes's gown and he went flying, tumbling down the stairs, his trumpet leaving his grasp and skidding across the floor. The musician rose to his feet, dusted himself off, and went to confront the people who tripped him, spoiling for a fight. Then the two men recognized each other, and both groveled in abject apologies, each trying to outdo the other in sincerity. One man was the well-known FBI Agent that had risen through the ranks and had become the head of the Mob Investigation, and the other man was Dizzy Gillespie.
While this story may be relevant to Ephesians 6 (Gird Up Your Loins!), what possible connection can there be to the Story of Isaac and Rebecca?
Agnes didn't seem to be afraid to go with her husband to a place where she would be "different" than everybody else. She was on the arm of her husband Jimmy, who would protect her and defend her. She dressed up for the occasion, just like Rebecca donned her veil to meet her new husband. She was treated with respect.
I never knew Agnes, but I did know Jimmy. I know in my heart that he would never have taken Agnes somewhere she didn't want to go. In Today's Scripture, we see that, although Rebecca's family gave their consent, they also checked with Rebecca to make sure that this arrangement was OK with HER. Then, they tried to stall the process, but Rebecca stood her ground and set off on the Journey to her new husband and family.
Finally, there was the Instant Recognition of her betrothed. Perhaps this is where we get the expression "Love At First Sight".
Jimmy and Dizzy instantly recognized one another after the incident with Agnes's train. While it wasn't "Love at First Sight", it WAS a moment of Mutual Respect and Recognition. Both men are gone now, but I still remember the awe in Jimmy's voice when he talked about Dizzy Gillespie.

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, âÂÂMy refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.âÂÂ
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.

I wouldn't be too harsh on Dizzy. Look at some of the fashions in the 1930s! Those trains were ridiculous!

They were accidents JUST WAITING to Happen! LOL!
