🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(2/5/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Genesis 22
22 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty God,
Blessed is Your Most Holy Name!
Your Alone Are Worthy of Our Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
And You Alone Are Our Hope and Our Salvation.
You Know The End from The Beginning
And The Beginning From The End.
You Control the Times and The Seasons,
You Created Us,
And we Are The Sheep of Your Pasture.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

It's very difficult to get a panoramic view of Jerusalem without a big golden dome dominating the picture. I TRIED. Standing on the Mount of Olives, I held the camera this way and that way, but it seemed impossible. The Dome of the Rock, built by the Umayyad caliph ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Marwān in the late 7th century AD, isn't a mosque or a temple, but a structure built over the rock upon which Abraham was to have sacrificed his son Isaac. The Temple Mount is believed to be Mt. Moriah, and was the site of the First and Second Temples. The Dome is considered one of the oldest of Islamic Shrines, but it was built upon a rock that was already sacred to the Jewish People.
The following is a collection of stories about a Hill, A Rock, and a Father.
I have three stories about a tiny spot on Planet Earth called "Houghton's Pond". It is a little pond, scooped out by a glacier in the last Ice Age, in the shadow of Big Blue, a not-so-big hill just south of the Boston/Milton Border. Since it was so close to the City, it was our Go-To place in the Summer.
1. The Sharp Rock: One hot Summer Saturday, my family went to Houghton's Pond to cool off. The kids piled into the Station Wagon in our little bathing suits and Dad drove the few miles out of the City to the "Country" (it was still city, but it had WOODS). We frolicked in the water, which was exceptionally high that year. Suddenly, I sliced my knee on a huge square block of stone and was bleeding like a stuck pig. Since I was only 6 at the time and quite the Drama Queen, I wailed that I was going to bleed to death and die. Dad immediately sprang into action, washing the wound thoroughly, cleansing it and binding it with a bandage. I probably could have used stitches, but, since Dad knew what he was doing, I didn't have to go to the ER. The stone that had wounded me had been placed onshore, but the high water had concealed it. It was a huge rectangular block, like a big cornerstone. Anyway, 68 years later, I still have a thin little scar on my knee.
2. The Nike Base: During the early 60s I was very concerned that our family didn't have a Fallout Shelter. I was certain that the Ruskies were going to destroy the Planet with Atomic Bombs, and I didn't have a place to hide! I kept pestering Dad to build a Fallout Shelter until he finally put me in the Station Wagon, and drove up to Big Blue (hovering over Houghton's Pond) to show me the Nike Base, stationed there to protect Boston from Russian Planes carrying Atomic Bombs. He drove right up to the gate, was stopped by a guard, who explained to me that he was there to protect Boston from Nuclear Attack. I was comforted to realize that Dad had it all under control. (I realize now that the neither Nike Base nor a Fallout Shelter probably would have helped, if the Cold War had turned HOT.) The Nike Base is now a Boy Scout Camp.
3. The Rock: In October 1981, I was Born Again, and started for the first time to read the Bible from the beginning to the "Amen" at the end. I had just finished Philippians (and was astounded and blessed) and always carried a little Bible with me so I could catch up on my reading whenever I had a chance. My husband and I took a ride on our motorcycles on a particularly hot and dry day after a Summer-long drought. We ended up at Houghton's Pond, where we left the bikes in the parking lot and sat on a big stone block under a shady tree. It was there that I read Colossians for the first time in my life, all the way through, out loud. The grace and love in this Book is amazing. It bored into my soul and moved me to tears. As I felt the rush of warmth and the Father's Love sweep over me, I realized that I was sitting on the very Rock that had wounded me 23 years earlier, now, uncovered by the drought.
It brought back to me the whole Plan of God, illustrated in Blood, a Father's Love and Protection, the Total Evil of War and Sin, and Finally, The Rock of my Salvation:
The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone; Psalm 118:22 (NIV)
(From the J-Thread in 2022)
Like the Big Cement Block in Houghton's Pond, and the Rock under the Dome, OUR CORNERSTONE, Jesus , is reflected in the Story of Abraham and Isaac. As Isaac carried the wood up the hill, he asked his father where the Lamb was for the Sacrifice. His Father replied:
"God will Provide the Lamb".
And there was the Substitute, his head caught in a crown of thorns, to take Isaac's place in death.
There's another stone near the Dome of the Rock, just outside the Herodian retaining wall. It's enormous, and has been there since the construction of the Second Temple. It's the Stone the Builders Rejected.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
