🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(2/2/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Genesis 21:1-8
21 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
The King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Come into Your Presence With Praise and Thanksgiving.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High,
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham!
Praise You, Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to You,
For You Are Gracious,
And a song of praise is fitting.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Today is the quirky "Holiday" called "Groundhog Day". There is a family of Groundhogs that live under the shed next door, and Tippy sits by the window all day watching them. However, there is so much snow in the yard that I don't think the little guys can even get OUT of their burrow, much less make Weather predictions.
There is a movie called "Groundhog Day" about a Scrooge-like character who has to relive the same mistakes over and over until he learns to act like a decent human being. Bill Murray is excellent in the role.
Yesterday's Story was probably better suited for Groundhog Day, as it was Abraham making the same mistake over and over again. The sin was in not Trusting in God, and not believing His Promise. In General, Abraham had GREAT FAITH; these moments of Distrust were like spasms that occurred when he listened to bad advice from others.
We often encounter this phenomenon in our own Walk with God. here's a Little Something I wrote about Christians awaiting the Promise of Christ's Return.
Paul had to write at least two letters to the Church in Thessalonica, because the dear souls in that community were being inundated with Fake News. Somehow, word had gotten around that Jesus Christ had already returned, taken His Chosen with him, and left the Thessalonians behind. Now, before you scoff at such a notion, there are some sects founded in the United States in the 19th Century that believe something similar. The leaders of these sects have to keep updating their literature to accommodate the fact that they are still here on Planet Earth. Some of these sects are huge and have missionaries all over the world. Other religions scoff at the idea that Jesus is EVER coming back, flying in the face of Christian Doctrine and Creeds that go back 2000 years. It would probably do all these people good to sit down and read Paul's Letters to the Thessalonians!
Paul assures the saints that Christ's Return is still in the future. He doesn't set dates, or even give a timeline, but does give clues as to what has to happen BEFORE this Earth-Shattering Event. The Event itself, though, will come at a time when we least expect it. That is why our lives should be filled with prayer and love, work and community. We should not be taken in by vain philosophies that distract us, nor by propaganda that inflames us. Unlike the Four W's of Journalism (Who, What, When, Where) we can be occupied by the Four W's of the Christian Walk: Watch, Wait, Work, and Worship.
Occupying till He Returns!
Jesus promised that he would return, and I believe Him. It may not be in my lifetime, but that's OK, I'll get to see Him, all the same.
Abraham believed God but had to wait a long, long time before the Promise was fulfilled. When Isaac was finally born Abraham and Sarah gave the child the name "Isaac", which, in Hebrew, sounds like somebody cracking up with laughter!
Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
