🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(1/22/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Genesis 16:1-6
16 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lord judge between me and thee.
6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty God,
Abba Father!
How Blessed and Holy is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised and Worshiped,
You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham!
How Glorious and Majestic You Are,
King of The Universe,
Ancient of Days,
Our All in All
and Rock of Ages.
Let Our Song Praise Your Saving Power
and Exalt Your Your Name,
forever and ever!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Critics may decry the Old Testament as "Patriarchal", meaning that the father was the head of the family. Meanwhile, those who love the Scriptures reply "Well, SURE it was! That's why Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are called "The Patriarchs!" In contemporary culture, the term has taken on a darker meaning, but, in my humble opinion, Man and Woman have always been "Equal but Different". This is illustrated in Abram's relationship with his wife Sarai.
Abram must have shared God's promise with his wife, otherwise she would not have been scheming to "help God out" by offering her maid to her husband.
From the context, it would appear that Abram and Sarai were in a long-term monogamous marriage. That was unusual in those days, so right away we can see that Abram was devoted to his wife, even though she had never had children. They were the type of couple who were to grow old together.
Abram must have confided God's Promise to Sarai, but obviously didn't have a clue as to how God was going to do this. Sarai started speculating and ruminating how this was going to happen. She wasn't any worse than Abram himself, who had suggested to God that Eliezer of Damascus be the heir.
This attempt to "direct God" in the fulfillment of His Promise is a very human trait that I think we all have to some degree.
I notice it sometimes in my own prayer life:
"Dear God, why not try doing it THIS way?" That's not OK.
We will look at Sarai (Sarah) more closely as we keep reading, but right now we're looking at Abram. There are a number of ways he could have responded:
1. Outright Refusal. "Sarai, that's CRAZY! We've got to trust God. Nothing's impossible with Him."
2. He Could have taken Hagar as a second wife. In those days, it was customary to have more than one wife. This would have elevated Hagar's status from that of a slave to that of a second wife, with all the protections and privileges.
3. He could have just gone along with it. ...Which is what he did. This put Hagar in an awful position. It also backfired on Sarai, because now Hagar had a son and she didn't.
This situation became intolerable for Sarai, Hagar, he son, and Abram himself. What a MESS!

Amen!!! <>< (NOTE:We must pray this daily from here on out. Getting obvious now!)
Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.

Amen to your prayers and word. It reminds me of the political mess our nations have gotten into. One of the saddest movies I have ever seen was Raise the Red Lantern, about a rich Chinaman with 6 wives. Also I have heard it said not to make vague prayers but be specific. That could be a problem too, eh.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
In Galatians 4:22-27, St. Paul made quite a lesson of the son of a bondsmaid and son of freewoman.
This story has a purpose: flesh vs. promise

Indeed, the story was still fresh in Paul’s mind, several thousand years after the fact. And the repercussions still haunt us to this day.
