🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(1/13/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Genesis 9:18-29
18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. 19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
28 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High!
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham,
You Are The Ancient Of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
and Rock of All Ages,
Our Creator,
You Have Made Us,
and All That Is.
You Are The Same Yesterday,
Today, and Forever.
Your Loving Kindness Is from Everlasting To Everlasting.
Even When We Are Unfaithful,
You Are Always Faithful.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

I was so proud of my shiny new patent leather shoes. They went so nicely with my pretty Back-To-School dress that Mom had made for me. It was important to dress up for the occasion, as I was going into The First Grade. Kindergarten was just fun and games, but First Grade was REAL SCHOOL.
It didn't take long for Judy-the-Bully to notice my shoes. She launched into a mantra, which she repeated all day whenever she saw me:
"I see London,
I see France,
I see Mary-Lou's underpants."
I couldn't understand how she could see my underpants, because my dress was not too short. Finally, Judy-the-Bully jeered that my underpants were reflected in the shiny surface of my patent leather shoes. I looked down. Sure enough, there was a tiny blotch of white reflecting back at me but that was not the same thing as actually seeing them. So I knew she was lying. It still upset me though. I was easy to hurt, so the bullies just gravitated to me like flies to honey. Judy died before she even reached 25 years old, in a horrible car accident. When I heard about it, I felt numb, because she had hurt me so much in my tender years. I have since forgiven her, and pray that she had some sort of revelation before she died. And I have had to learn not to take such things to heart so much. The more one ALLOWS oneself to get hurt by bullying, the harder it is to forgive the bully. That's because, I found, that it's harder to forgive one's SELF for being credulous and vulnerable than it is to forgive others for taking advantage of it.
Today's story, which is probably never taught in Sunday School, is about Four, (maybe FIVE, I'll get to that later.) Personalities. The first Personality in the story is Noah himself.
When we were first introduced to Noah in Genesis 6, he is described as "Righteous". However, we are told in other Scriptures that NOBODY is Righteous, and that "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Isaiah compares Human Righteousness to filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6), so how could Noah be a Righteous Man?
Perhaps Noah was only righteous in comparison to the rest of the population described in Genesis 6. The people had become so corrupt that God regretting making them in the first place. The opening of Genesis 6 indicates that there was either a genetic or sexual component to this corruption. Perhaps we'd better leave it at that, please, because the theories attached to Genesis 6 are just speculation, and some of it is really weird.
Anyway, Noah wasn't an Angel, nor was he Super-Human. He had just been through a years-long trauma that would break ANYBODY, and he finally found a little peace growing grapes.
I'm reminded of a story from Japan about the invention of Rice Wine, known as "Sake":
The Emperor of Japan was in dispute with the Emperor of China over a large region common to both kingdoms. He invited the Chinese Emperor to a lavish State Dinner for negotiations.
Meanwhile, the Royal Chef was making his famous Rice Soup, and hadn't noticed that the fire had gone out under the massive pot. He hastily re-heated the soup and served it, hoping that nobody would notice. He had no idea that the soup had fermented, and was now an alcoholic beverage.
The Emperor of Japan thought it was the best Rice Soup he had ever tasted, and ordered another bowl of it...and another. Pretty soon he was so sloshed that he ceded the ENTIRE disputed territory to the Emperor of China, who went home a very happy man.
The next day, the Emperor of Japan woke up with a headache and enormous regrets. he made this decree:
1. Sake is a Beverage, NOT a Soup, even though it's served HOT.
2. Sake is to be served in teeny-tiny cups.
3. Sake is to be served AFTER negotiations, not before.
While a glass of wine with dinner isn't sinful, excess and sloppy drunkenness is. But what's even worse is the disrespect and mockery of Noah's own son Ham, when he discovered his father in this naked, drunken condition. While commentators struggle with the severity of Noah's reaction, trying to say that Ham did something more than what's written, the mockery is more than enough to be called a sin. If I can remember how I felt when Judy-The-Bully mocked my "exposure" over 65 years ago, I can only imagine how this affected Noah.
There's a REASON God included the Command to Honor Our Parents in the Ten Commandments.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Amen to your prayer, and honor your parents even when the screw up, I found out. Do not give the devil a foothold, even when we are little.

Amen! We need to remember that even the very BEST parents will "screw up" from time to time. There's that Romans 3:23 again!
First in today, Norsky! 😇
