Friend or no friend, America’s history with the Jewish people goes back farther than either the Trump or Biden administrations. In fact, the country’s very foundation is based on the Jewish Scriptures. For instance:
The three branches of the U.S. government were extracted from Isaiah 33:22: “For the Lord is our Judge [judicial branch], the Lord is our Lawgiver [legislative branch], the Lord is our King [executive branch].”
The Liberty Bell’s inscription is taken from Leviticus 25:10: “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land and unto all the inhabitants thereof.”
Three of America’s Founding Fathers (Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams) submitted their ideas for the first official Seal of the United States based on Scripture. Though rejected, it depicted the Israelites crossing the Red Sea, with Pharaoh in pursuit and Moses standing on the other side.
Before the State of Israel emerged in 1948, no fewer than eight presidents publicly stated their desire for Israel to exist. For example:
John Adams said, “For I really wish the Jews again in Judea an independent nation.”
Abraham Lincoln, commenting on the hope of a homeland for the Jewish people, said, “It is a noble dream and one shared by many Americans.”
Woodrow Wilson, the 28th U.S. president and a former president of Princeton University and professor of history, said the colonists applied the Mosaic Code to their internal lives.
Calvin Coolidge believed Judaism was the faith of liberty and said, “Hebraic mortar cemented the foundations of American democracy.”
Harry Truman said the Bible influenced his decision to recognize a reconstituted Israel as a nation in 1948. In fact, Truman defied the entire U.S. State Department to do so 11 minutes after Israel declared independence.
Over the years, Republicans and Democrats have shown both support for Israel and distaste for it. Pro-Jewish history runs side by side with virulent anti-Semitism. In the 20th century, iconic automaker Henry Ford and his newspaper, The Dearborn (MI) Independent, spewed vicious anti-Semitism regularly. In fact, Adolf Hitler had a portrait of Ford over his desk.
Roman Catholic priest Charles Coughlin vilified the Jewish people on his extremely popular radio program during World War II, blaming them for virtually everything. His broadcasts reached tens of millions of people, and he was so popular “a new post office was constructed in his Michigan town just to process the letters that he received each week—80,000 on average,” according to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.
For many years, America’s Ivy League colleges—including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia—had quotas limiting Jewish enrollment. Some hotels explicitly advertised “no Hebrews”; and many fraternities, clubs, and resorts severely restricted Jewish membership. Even some neighborhoods had homeowners’ associations that regularly restricted the sale of property to Jews.
What Does the Future Hold?
Yet despite these problems, Jewish people always have called America the Goldina Medina, Yiddish for the “Golden Land,” because they have been allowed to flourish here. Consequently, God has abundantly blessed the United States of America based on the covenant He made with Abraham: “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Gen. 12:3).
That eternal, irrevocable, and unconditional promise went from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob and his progeny, the Jewish people. If we truly believe “the king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes” (Prov. 21:1), then we must believe God will accomplish His will regardless of who occupies the White House—be he friend or foe to Israel. Also based on Genesis 12:3, if the United States fails to bless Israel, it likely will suffer the consequences.
A significant percentage of Trump’s Christian backers like his support of Israel. They say he was a true friend of the Jewish state. In fact, Israeli-American journalist Caroline Glick called Trump “the most pro-Israel president in history” whose policies in the Middle East were “remarkably successful.”
During his first administration, Trump moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem; cut aid to the Palestinians; defunded the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which has been riddled with controversy and corruption; recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights; and secured the Abraham Accords between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.
So what is America’s future? Does America appear in Bible prophecy? Traveling around the country as I do, I’m often asked these questions. Through the prophet Zechariah, the Lord revealed the future of all nations in the last days of the coming seven-year Tribulation: “Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city” (Zech. 14:1–2, emphasis added).
Every nation on Earth during that time will fight against Israel. It will be the worst period of anti-Semitism in world history. Israel will have no friends among the nations. But Zechariah also provided hope in the midst of hopelessness: “The Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south” (vv. 3–4).
What a day that will be! The Lord Jesus Christ will return to Earth in power and might and fight for Israel Himself, defeating all Israel’s enemies. Then “all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (2 Cor. 1:20).
Genesis 12:2; Jeremiah 31:35–37; and Ezekiel 37 all promise God not only will preserve the Jewish people but give them peace, as He says, “in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob” (Ezek. 28:25).
Everything will come from the Sar Shalom, the Prince of Peace—Jesus, the Jewish Messiah and Savior of the world and the only one able to provide true shalom for Israel forever. He is the real friend of Israel—no matter who is president.

Genesis 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
And this verse applies to all individuals as well. In before the Jewish-Hate contingent here on FR.
Keep on heaping curses upon yourselves.
Other than manipulating America solely for their goals, spying on us, bribing our leaders, running an underage rape island, and hating Jesus … they’re our best friends!
If they would show America some due respect and lose their overdeveloped sense of pushy arrogant entitlement, they would find no better friend than America.
Other than Me-First Israel
<><>manipulating America and its Congress solely for their expansionist goals,
<><>its very existence dependent on billions upon billions of US tax dollars,
<><>Israel controlling foreign policy by relentlessly spying on the US,
<><>bribing US leaders,
<><>sneering at Christian taxpayers
<><>and belittling Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Israel “says” they are our “best friend”-——and our “greatest ally” in the Mideast.
It is toooooo bad and sooooooo sad Americans don’t spend more time learning what Leviticus has to tell them!! It is an awesome book in the Holy Bible.
Galatians 3:28.
The United States’ “troubling history” with Israel involves
<><>specific historical tensions,
<><>policy disagreements,
<><>actions by Israel that run contrary to stated U.S. interests
<><>Israel deliberately acting to cause significant friction.
These events have generated controversy and caused a
“backlash” wrt US foreign policy or public opinion.
Key areas of historical and ongoing friction include Israeli Military Actions and Civilian Casualties: Israel’s military actions, particularly those resulting in high civilian casualties in places like Qibya in the 1950s or more recently in Gaza, have drawn international condemnation and criticism from US administrations and the public.
The U.S. has often expressed concern over the
humanitarian consequences of these operations.
Israel’s 1967 War (Six-Day War) was a bone of contention The U.S. initially pursued diplomatic efforts to avoid the conflict, which Israel ultimately initiated.
The outcome had profound consequences for U.S. policy, solidifying the conflict for generations and creating a dynamic where the U.S. was seen by some as Israel deliberately pulling the US into the conflict’s aftermath.
In 1967, during the Six-Day War, Israeli forces attacked the American intelligence ship USS Liberty, killing 34 U.S. servicemen and wounding more than 170.
To save its billion of US tax dollars in foreign aid, Israel claimed it was a “mistake,” but some in the U.S. government and military have long maintained it was a deliberate attack, leading to a long-standing point of tension and mistrust.
Policy Disputes and Strains in Government Relations: U.S. presidents have, at times, clashed with Israeli prime ministers over policy, particularly regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, West Bank settlements, and the peace process.
President Eisenhower forced Israel, Britain, and France to withdraw from the Suez Canal in 1956.
More recent disagreements have involved U.S. attempts to withhold specific arms shipments to pressure Israel regarding military strategy in populated areas like Rafah.
Tensions have also arisen over Israel’s influence and control of U.S. foreign policy, with some critics arguing that Israeli interests conflict with U.S. national security goals.
Israel pushing the U.S. into a war just b/c they hate Iran.
Public Opinion Shifts: While U.S. support has seen a decline in public approval, especially among younger Americans and certain political demographics. Concerns about Israeli military conduct, civilian casualties in Gaza, and U.S. military aid have contributed to a more negative view among a significant portion of the American public.
These issues form part of a complex and multifaceted relationship that also includes decades of close strategic, intelligence, and military cooperation.

US views of Israel and Israel-Hamas war early in Trump’s ...
Apr 7, 2025 — A majority of Americans (53%) now express a very unfavorable opinion of Israel.
Given the constant negative press on Israel, I’m surprised it’s that low.
What troubles me is that the negative view of Israel politics extends to its primarily Jewish population and to Jews in general around the world.
The 1967 attack on the USS Liberty, flying a large American flag, orchestrated by US tax-financed Israeli military who deliberately killed 34 US personnel and wounded over 170.
The official position out there is that the US tax-financed Israeli attack was a tragic case of
“mistaken identity”-—because, God forbid Israel is portrayed as being less than 100% “perfect.”
However, this vain attempt at whitewashing the Israeli image is contested by many of the Liberty’s survivors and some former US officials, who believe the tax-financed Israeli attack was deliberate.
According to official inquiries, the sequence of events was as follows:
<><>Israel’s Stupid Mistaken Identification: tax-financed Israeli military attackers were so stupid, they “misidentified” the Liberty..... which was flying a large American flag.
<><>Communication Errors: The Liberty’s position marker was also stupidly removed from a tax-financed Israeli control board earlier that day.
<><>The Attack and Apology: US tax-paid Israeli jet fighters and later US tax-paid Israeli torpedo boats attacked the Liberty ship for over an hour, using US tax-paid rockets, napalm, and a torpedo.
After awhile the stupid Israelis “suddenly” realized the ship was American (when a tax-paid Israeli helicopter pilot actually “saw” a large US flag). The US tax-financed Israeli attack was called off.............AFTER the stupid Israelis killed 34 Americas died and maimed over 170 servicemen.
The stupid Israelis...... fearing they were guilty of biting the hand that feeds them..... immediately apologized for the incident but only after 34 Americas died and over 170 maimed.
The greedy Israeli’s-—fearing cutoff of their US foreign aid billions—— then expressed deep regret, and later paid compensation to the victims’ families and for the ship’s damage............ with US tax dollars.
Many USS Liberty survivors and some high-ranking U.S. officials, including a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a CIA Director, have disputed the “mistaken identity” conclusion, arguing the tax-paid Israeli attack was intentional.
Theories wrt a “deliberate” US tax-paid Israeli attack include:
<><>Israel’s attempt to Conceal: The Liberty was attacked to prevent it from intercepting communications related to Israel’s plan to seize the Golan Heights from Syria, which occurred the next day.
<><>Drawing In the US: In one highly credible insight, the US tax-paid attack was viewed as a calculated Israeli attempt to sink the Liberty and put the blame on Egypt, thereby drawing US military might into Israel’s puny Six-Day War.
<><>Intercepted communications allegedly contain exchanges wherein US tax-paid Israeli pilots identified the ship as American but were ordered by tax-paid Israeli commanders to continue the killing and maiming of Americans.
The USS Liberty debate continues, with no “definitive consensus” reached,
thanks to the persistence and demands of tax-paid Israeli lobbies.
The U.S. government has officially maintained -——so that Israel could remain
plusperfect and the puny “Jewish vote” would continue-——that the attack was a “mistake.”
All of this Israel suddenly rah-rahing America is to grease the skids
for Israel’s latest billion dollar pipe dream “The Greater Israel Project”
As usual..... to be financed by the US taxpayer.
Israel seeks a 20-year US security deal of billions more in US tax dollars. Israel has the audacity to say the “billions in US outlays will “benefit the US.”
No American in their right mind believes a sliver of land in the Mideast slums “benefits the US.”
“Me-First Israel’s” extended 20-year security agreement doubles the current agreement and includes billions more US tax dollars to surfeit Israel’s already teeming coffers of US dollars.
Laugh break:
Israel says getting all this money will “align with Trump’s “America First” policy.
Key proposals include
<><>redirecting billions of military aid tax dollars to Israeli-centered r&d projects,
<><>US tax dollars to Israel’s thriving military business—its profitable global sales of missiles.
<><>Israel “says” the new agreement is aimed at providing long-term “strategic assurance” for Israel.
<><>props up Israel’s centennial celebrations in 2048-—time to celebrate by soaking US taxpayers.
<><>and will shore up Netanyahu’s sagging political bona fides.
Shifts in US tax dollars focuses on Israel’s own R&D projects such as its thriving defense technology, artificial intelligence for more Israeli military applications, and specific projects like the ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense project.
Unspoken are Israel’s contingency plans to lobby Congressional dupes to change US law that remakes any monies Israel might owe transformed into “gifts.” This is an already established ploy-—after the fact-—making Americans believe Israel is only “borrowing” tax dollars
The laughable “America First” angle sucks up to Trump and facetiously claims these billions “direct benefits” for US industry and the US military.
Huh?
You forget Galations 3. Where Paul, explains it.
No respect for the apostles?
The shared Judeo-Christian value system drives History of which America’s History is only a fragment.

I knew this would get you Jew-haters into a frenzy.

“There is such a thing as ‘spiritual Israel.’ Spiritual Israel would refer to Jewish people who have trusted Jesus as their Messiah; but the Church is never called ‘spiritual Israel’... there is no textual or exegetical basis for... [the] belief that Galatians 6:16 teaches that the ‘Israel of God’ includes the church or Gentiles.” - Dr. Thomas Ice
Galatians 3:29 indicates that all believers in Christ, regardless of our ethnicity, are “Abraham’s seed,” having followed the pattern of salvation by faith. “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” But this doesn’t mean that all believers are Israel.
