Just a thought for this Christmas season. One of the greatest myths in all of Christendom is that Mary (Miriam) - the young Jewish girl of king David's line - who gave birth to the Savior of the world was sinless. I myself was taught this as a boy in the Catholic church and it wasn't till I was born again and started reading the Holy Scriptures for myself that I saw the true folly of such a myth. My dear friends, no greater lie could ever be told or fantasy ever believed! When this lie is embraced it derails the total ETERNAL movement of Almighty God and seeks to make the temporal, fallen and mortal the ETERNAL, RIGHTEOUS and DIVINE (Rom. 10:4). Mary herself testified that she rejoiced in Almighty God her Savior and one does not need a Savior if one is not a sinner (Rom. 3:23, 6:23, 10:2-4, Acts 4:12)! If we let the Holy Scriptures of Almighty God and Mary's own personal testimony speak to us then this great fantasy of many can NEVER stand.
Mary herself testified that she rejoiced in Almighty God her Savior and one does not need a Savior if one is not a sinner.
And Mary herself said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate (to look with pity on her vile condition) of his handmaiden (slave): for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation (St. Luke 1:45-49).
Also the Holy Scriptures tell us that Mary offered a burnt offering and a sin offering for atonement after her purification (Leviticus 12:1-8). If Mary was not a fallen daughter fallen of Adam she would not have needed to offer an offering of sin.
And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons (St. Luke 2:22-24).
My dear friends, if you are one who holds to the teaching of the Catholic church on Mary of Nazareth I would like to challenge you to believe Almighty God's Word and receive the biblical position of Mary and that of salvation (John 1:12, Acts 16:28-30, Romans 6:23, 10:2-4, 1 John 5:13). Mary the young maiden - by faith - trusted in Almighty God for her ETERNAL salvation as a young girl before her angelic visitation and little did she know that she would be the vessel of Almighty God to bring forth the perfect body for her Lamb and propitiation of her soul (John 1:29, John 3:16-17, 36, Rom. 10:2-4, 1 John 2:2, 4:10).
Mary the young maiden - by faith - trusted in Almighty God for her ETERNAL salvation as a young girl before her angelic visitation and little did she know that she would be the vessel of Almighty God to bring forth the perfect body for her Lamb and propitiation of her soul.
The first Christmas two thousand years ago - the young Jewish girl of the tribe of Judea - Mary; was trying to comprehend and take in the wonders of the last nine months (Matt. 1, Luke 2:24-80). Mary was highly favored above all women and was given the Divine assignment to prepare the body for the ETERNAL Spirit of the Son of Almighty God (Isa. 9:6-7, Micah 5:2, John 1:12, Heb. 10). The true servant's heart and faith of Mary are to be greatly commended and her exampled followed; but when individuals seek to change her testimony and her witness to fantastic fables they do her and her ETERNAL Savior a great disservice and dishonor.
Dear friend; baby Jesus was Mary’s ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Lamb of atonement and propitiation for her sins (John 2:29; Rom. 3:23, 1 John 4:7-10). Mary needed a Savior and believed as the Word of God clearly stated (Lev.). What about you? If Mary was here today she would point you to her God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Messiah to save your soul and give you ETERNAL LIFE (John 3:16-17). What will you do this Christmas season? Will you listen to Biblical Mary or traditional Mary? The choice is yours to make,.

Yes. Thank you IGF for posting.
I believe it was 1954, not 1984.
Worse still: it was 1854 (171 years) LOL
So why did Jesus receive the baptism of repentance from John the Baptist?
Being sinless is one of them, which, as with other claims, has no real substantiation, but is premised upon illogical reasoning and significant exceptions to the norm. For besides a spurious argument based on the word Kecharitomene, the real argument for the immaculate conception is based upon the premise that an impure vessel could not be the agent for the pure Word made flesh.
However, this reasoning fails, for if Mary was preserved from sin (without a sinful nature), then the immaculate conception of Mary was not necessary in order to birth the incarnate sinless Christ, for if Mary could be sinless despite being born of parents of inherited sinful nature, then so could the Christ. And yet of man of sinful nature, expressed in words and acts, could issue forth pure words of God, even though somewhat reflective of their personality, then so could a women of fallen nature being used of God to provide the body God had prepared for His Son (Hebrews 10:5) to be incarnated with.
And when there are significant exceptions to the norm, the Holy Spirit records such, as He often does in the case of notable exceptions. From the age of Methuselah, (Gn. 5:27) to the strength of Samson, (Jdg. 4:4, 16, 16:12, 29, 30) to the size (1 Samuel 17:4) and number of toes of a Philistine giant, (2Sam. 21:20), to a talking donkey (Numbers 22:28) and other miracles, to a female leader, (Judges 4:9) ) to a celibate marriage, (1 Kings 1:4) to prolonged celibacy (Anna: Luke 2:36, 37; Paul and Barnabas: 1 Corinthians 9:5), to the special diet of the Baptist, (Mt. 3:4) to an uncharacteristic duplicity of Peter, leading some astray, (Galatians 2:11-13) and uncharacteristic singleness (Paul and Barnabas), the lack of genealogy of Melchizedek, etc., to Christ being sinless, which is mentioned at least thrice. (2Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 1:19, 2:22; cf. John 8:45)
Here and here are a couple of supplemental responses, by the grace of God, including a response to the argument based on Luke 1:34. However, Catholics must extrapolate distinctive teachings out of texts things which do not teach them, thinking of morals far "above that which it written." (1 Co. 4:6)
Never fails, every year, just like clockwork the closer we get to Christmas (or too Easter). It's a predictable compulsive obsession.
yeah. you just have to shake your head on this one.
this was probably the first among the reasons i immediately put any thought of joining the Catholic religion out of my head.
on the other hand, you know you’re a committed Catholic if you can believe/accept/tolerate this doctrine (and the faulty reasoning behind it). i’m guessing that as a litmus for acceptance into or communion with this religion, it is probably pretty high on the list.
Mary herself testified that she rejoiced in Almighty God her Savior and one does not need a Savior if one is not a sinner
This statement is false. All human beings, whether they have committed actual sins or not, need a savior because all of us have sinned federally in Adam.
Mary still needed a savior, and God gave her one, removing from her some (but not all) of the effects of Adam's sin from the first moment of her life.
And do not claim that to be sinless makes one divine. By that logic, Adam and Eve were divine, until they weren't. The unfallen angels are divine. Humans who have died and gone to heaven are divine. It's obvious nonsense.
I hope you aren't calling God a "created being".
As I point out, being sinless is hardly a "power or privilege never given to any created being".
If you start with obviously wrong premises like this, you inevitably come to some very wrong conclusions.
The key is what is stated right in the text, which was not because the Lord had anything to repent of, but to fulfill the Law - which was why He had also been circumcised - and which involved ritual washing, from which principle comes baptism. And thus, as with the commissioning of Aaron and his sons as priest, so also Christ would be ritually washed in preparation for ministry, as well as anointed, as Aaron and his sons also were. Likewise, Christian baptism has its significance. (Rom. 6) Thanks be to God.
And while the Lord never sinned, yet as being "born under the Law" so He would fulfill it insofar as it applied to Him, in this case as to priesthood (besides being a prophet and king), and then bring in the promised New Covenant.
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. (Matthew 3:13-15)
And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office:..And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre. Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him. (Exodus 29:4-7)
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:16-17)
The Apostle Paul said to not make too much of the person doing the baptizing. He held back on baptizing tons of people because he didn't want people to make too much of him. Likewise, we probably shouldn't make too much of the fact that it was John the Baptist who dunked Jesus.
12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
Catholicism ascribes powers and privileges never given in Scripture to any created beings but God alone. Being sinless is one of themI hope you aren't calling God a "created being".
I hope you do not think that after thousands of posts then I was suddenly calling God a "created being," but thanks for catching that and thereby pointing out how the lack clarifying words then misunderstanding by some can occur. Of course, Catholicism is guilty of that. Corrected rendering, to whom "Catholicism ascribes powers and privileges never given in Scripture to any created beings, but only belong to the uncreated Creator. Being sinless (despite moral cognizance, ability and temptations thru life) is one of them."
As I point out, being sinless is hardly a "power or privilege never given to any created being". If you start with obviously wrong premises like this, you inevitably come to some very wrong conclusions.
It is indeed a privilege, in context, and if not, the Catholic Mary would not be so exalted.
Hope that helps.

Pope Now Recommending Christians Pray The Rosary While Facing Mecca 12/8/2025, 2:58:49 PM · by DFG · 9 repliesBabylon Bee ^ | 12/08/2025 | Babylon Bee
VATICAN CITY — Catholics and Protestants around the world expressed concern this week, as Pope Leo XVI gave his recommendation that Christians pray the rosary while facing in the direction of Mecca. The pontiff made the proclamation after visiting Turkey and Lebanon, stating that not only should the West be less fearful of the spread of Islam, but all Christians should seek to live more peaceably by facing toward the holiest of Islamic sites when they pray the rosary. This is an important step toward helping the Muslims conquer us all," Pope Leo said. "I do not think that Christians should live in fear of all the things they see Muslims doing in every single Western country they invade. Rather, they should accept the inevitability that we shall all be overtaken eventually and start getting used to it by praying the rosary while facing Mecca."
In addition to the recommendation regarding prayer, the Pope also said that Christians — both Protestants and Catholics alike — should see the virtues and benefits of living under Sharia Law. "It's really not that bad," he explained. "You get a lot less criminal behavior in society, much stronger family units, and I can personally assure women that having to wear robes all the time is actually quite comfortable. We in the West can learn a lot from Islam, and we should. And we will. Or we will all die."
Conquering via conception.
