Back in the 60s, I was still in High School, but thought I was a very cool, hip, and sophisticated adult. The way I expressed this "adulthood" was by dressing up as a gypsy, painting a flower on my cheek, and sitting on Boston Common playing Bob Dylan songs on my guitar. (sigh).

Anyway, one day two rather squarely dressed people came up to me and asked me if I "wanted to take a FREE Personality Test". I laughed and said that my "Personality was perfect, just the way it was!". (YIKES!) Anyway, the two moved on to the next lost soul to see if they would have better luck.

A half-century later, I found myself fascinated by a series on TV exposing the very group represented by those two "squares" as an extremely dangerous cult. Perhaps God was using my immature sense of hubris and cockiness to save me from many years of misery.

I am passionate about The Bill of Rights, and Freedom of Religion, and am grateful to God for this Beautiful Country and our Constitution, but some "religions" are a form of Bondage rather than "Freedom of Religion". In our modern day of instant communication, these "religions" can spread like wildfire, but, remember that the exposure and debunking of these cults can use communication as well.

As I am typing this, it occurred to me how blessed we are in the the area of Communications.The Internet is a development on a par with the invention of the Printing Press, in reaching the World with the Gospel. Unfortunately, it is also a "carrier" for evil messages. I suppose the same could be said for the printed word, as there are good books and bad books. There are books that have changed the world, both for good and for evil.

Today's lively CHORUS sings of the phenomenon of the Gospel spreading to all lands, at a time when the only method of spreading the Word was a speech, a letter, and the Roman System of Roads.

And yet, the Word changed the World.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
