Not going to hell is easier than you think. ... The Bible is clear on how a person can avoid going to hell after death.

So, how can we not go to hell? Since only an infinite penalty is sufficient, an infinite price must be paid. God Himself arranged for that price to be paid. God became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14). In Jesus Christ, God lived among us, taught us, and healed us—but those things were not His ultimate mission. God became a human being so that He could die for us. Jesus, God in human form, died on the cross. As God, His sinless, holy death was infinite in value, paying the full price for our sin (1 John 2:2). Jesus’ resurrection on the third day proves the worth of His sacrifice. ...
... God does not want anyone to go to hell (2 Peter 3:9). That is why God made the ultimate, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice on our behalf. If you want to not go to hell, receive Jesus as your Savior. It is as simple as that. Tell God that you recognize that you are a sinner and that you deserve to go to hell. Declare to God that you are trusting in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Thank God for providing for your salvation and deliverance from hell. Simple faith—trusting in Jesus Christ as the Savior—is how you can avoid going to hell! ...
people think it is difficult. It’s as easy as stretching out your hand and just taking what God gives you. There’s absolutely nothing that you have to do ,absolutely nothing. You just have to believe and accept it. All of the heavy lifting has been done for you. It’s humiliating because people want to be a part of it and we aren’t included in because we are simple and broken. It’s physically impossible for any of us to do the things that would need to be done to save ourselves.
Amen!
Exactly.
One of the largest stumbling blocks people have is believing there is a place called hell.
It’s very difficult. Getting people to sincerely admit they are self-focused sinners isn’t easy. They will say it but not necessarily mean it. Most people think they are basically good. I taught High School Sunday School for 25 years. People grow up believing they are good and deserving of good things.
Romans 5:10 For if, while we were ***God’s enemies***, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Simple. Lead a clean life, be kind to others, recognize you are not perfect, believe in God, and vote for conservative republicans.
The fastest way to go to hell, is to work for the New York Homosexual Times. /spit
It’s as simple as A, B, C.
A, Admit you are a sinner and are lost and on your way to hell
B, Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died for your sins and rose again the third day
C, Call on Him to forgive you of your sins
Supporting Scriptures
Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
Roman’s 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
1 Corinthians 15:3 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures
1Co 15:4 - And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scripture
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
Rom 10:10 - For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
I think we need to define “faith” a little clearer in this discussion so as not to mislead people. Biblical faith is not mere “belief”— even the demons have that. It’s a trust in and reliance on God and His grace that necessarily results in good works. Good works certainly don’t earn that Grace. At all. But they are evidence of the kind of saving faith the scriptures refer to (e.g. Eph. 2 + James 2.)
Valid Baptism MT 28:19-20
Confession John 20:23
Receive the Body and Blood of Jesus John 6:53
Confirmation The sacrament of Confirmation is clearly rooted in Scripture. Ephesians 4:30 speaks of being “sealed with the Holy Spirit,” a spiritual mark imprinted on the soul (CCC 1317). Acts 8:14-17 shows the apostles laying hands on baptized Samaritans so they might receive the Holy Spirit, distinct from baptism itself.
Marriage Marriage is a sacred covenant, a single, indissoluble union between a man and a woman, reflecting Christ’s union with the Church (Ephesians 5:22-32).
Anointing of Sick The Anointing of the Sick is a true sacrament instituted by Christ, as the Catechism teaches: “This sacred anointing of the sick was instituted by Christ our Lord as a true and proper sacrament of the New Testament” (CCC 1511).
We believe that salvation is a process by which we come closer to God throughout our whole life as we participate in the sacraments and the grace that comes through them. But it is not true that man plays as important a role as God. God the Father planned our salvation, not man. God the Son gained our salvation by his death and resurrection; no one else did these things. And God the Holy Spirit infused the very love of God into our hearts by his presence (cf. Rom. 5:5). This is beyond our human ability. Still, we must cooperate with God’s grace to find eternal happiness with God. If we don’t, we will be cut off from God forever.
We believe that we need to be in the state of sanctifying grace when we die and have properly confessed to a priest any mortal sins.
As Catholics we believe that Jesus gave us His Catholic Church and 7 sacraments to help us on our path to salvation. It is a gift from God, but we can reject His gift by our actions.
The greatest commandments are to Love God and our neighbor. Mt 19: 16-22
Pray and worship God and pray for each other including the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
Believe in Yeshua / Jesus. The only way to Heaven!
Easy! “Repent and believe in the Gospel.” - Mark 1:15
The writer IMPLIED that being born again is the key to avoiding hell; but he/she didn’t SAY it. I always love to hear that term, born-again, because being born again is the one thing necessary for being included in the Kingdom of God.
Yes; and none of that challenges what was written above.
We *have* been saved by Christ through faith; and even the faith is a gift so that none may boast.
We *are being* saved daily as we respond to the gift of salvation in our lives, and the Sacraments bring these graces into the physical in a similar fashion by which Christ chose to bring salvation through the physical person of Jesus.
We *will be* saved upon His return or after death by means and times which various denominations like to quibble or bitterly argue about sometimes.
All three of these are true at once and part of both common Creeds, the CCC and Lutheran catechisms, and Biblically based. How that works out “mechanically” is part of the given faith, above my pay grade “through a glass darkly” and also impossible to work out for beings stuck in linear time.
If you've done B, then C is already accomplished. His words. John 3:36 and Acts 10:43.
Truth!! That’s right. Human pride is a huge stumbling block.
How to get right with God

What did the Prophets preach? What did John the Baptist preach? What did Jesus preach? What did the Apostles preach?
They all preached REPENT and turn to God.
I did not see one response here using the word repent.
Repentance is a change of heart. That is a gift from God, not of your own doing. It is eyes to see and ears to hear.
