It is astonishing how many Catholics here have stated the Lord's day commandment is merely "ceremonial" when their own Catechism refers to it as a MORAL COMMANDMENT. Which it is...in the heart of the Moral Law.
In this respect, the Catechism of the Catholic church is correct. A few Catholics here on FR are very confused on this subject.
Here is a quote from Thomas Aquinas, considered by many to be the greatest Roman Catholic theologian ever. From “Summa Theologica” ....an excerpt from his comments on the Sabbath to Sunday. I believe he lived in the 13th century.

He is correct, this brilliant Catholic Theologian. There is NO Bible basis for the change of the Sabbath to Sunday. It was done by Institution of the church and custom or tradition of the people. Nothing in scripture.
