🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(11/10/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
2 Samuel 23:15-17
15 David longed for water and said, “Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!” 16 So the three mighty warriors broke through the Philistine lines, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem and carried it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out before the Lord. 17 “Far be it from me, Lord, to do this!” he said. “Is it not the blood of men who went at the risk of their lives?” And David would not drink it.
Such were the exploits of the three mighty warriors.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed Be Thy Name!
We Put Our Complete trust in Your Covenants.
For Your Are Faithful and True To Your Word.
And So, We Are Not Afraid of the Darkness by Night,
Or The Arrow That Flies by Day
You Tell Us That You Are "The Messenger of the Covenant"
And Your Promise is Consistent Throughout Your Word.
We Look Ahead With Joy,
As We Anticipate the Fulfillment of Your Promises,
For You Are Faithful,
Even When We Are Not.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Amen !!! <>< (NOTE:We must pray this daily from here on out)
Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.

I couldn't have been more than ten, and my Uncle Peter posed a Riddle:
"Hey, ML, can you tell me who 'Xan-Thippe' was? That's X-A-N, dash, T-H-I-P-P-I."
I was genuinely stumped. I threw out a few guesses: "a character from Gilbert and Sullivan?" But I wasn't even close.
Since our family only saw Peter on Thanksgiving, I had a whole year to figure out who Xan-Thippe was. Remember, there was NO Internet, Wiki, or Grok in those benighted times.
Luckily, the Hyde Park Library was right around the corner from my Elementary School, and they had a wonderful Children's Section, so I went there first.
The Children's Librarian shook her head. "Never heard of him." she muttered.
I wandered off into the "Adult Section", but couldn't find anything there either. I did, however, see that they had...RECORDS! Woo Hoo! I grabbed a boxed set of Verdi's Requiem, as performed by the Moscow State Orchestra and Chorus, and checked it out. I ran home, put the record on my little Record Player, and played it over and over until I had to return it. To this day I STILL sing the "Lacrimosa" with a thick Russian accent.
I read the liner notes, and got some interesting insight into the USSR and its enforced Atheism. The Conductor, who was an elderly man, was becoming increasingly frustrated with his singers, because the Sacred Music (a Requiem Mass) was being sung as if it were an Opera. The emotions were real, but not "Spiritual" sounding. He was truly afraid to teach his Singers about Heaven and Hell, Life and Death, Resurrection and Eternity. Such "Religious Instruction" could get him in a lot of trouble. He finally managed to convey a message of falling into a deep abyss, seeing a light above, and being pulled free up to the light.
This helped a lot, but the piece still comes across with the grandiosity of a Verdi Opera.
Meanwhile, I STILL didn't know who Xan-Thippe was.
A Summer trip into Copley Square to the venerable Boston Public Library was in order. Dad took me in, wondering what on earth could be possessing his daughter to need to go into Boston when there was a perfectly GOOD Library in Hyde Park.
I walked up to the Librarian and asked where I could find out about Xan-Thippe. She said that sounded like Ancient Greece, so why not start there. A vast wall of Card Catalogs faced me. Since not many Book Titles begin with "X", I found it right away. I was ready for Thanksgiving!
When Peter came for dinner, I immediately confronted him:
"I know who Xan-Thippe was! She was the Wife of Socrates, and generally considered by Historians as being a SHREW!"
Peter and my Parents dissolved into laughter. Peter looked at me, a little sheepish, and said:
"I forgot all about that."
Have you ever listened to someone's musings or desires, and did everything you could to make it happen? This is what happened when King David, in a vulnerable moment, waxed rhapsodic about a little well near the gate of Bethlehem, his Home Town. Even though it was deep in enemy territory, his loyal warriors went there to please their king.
When David realized that his dreamy musings has caused three of his finest warriors to risk their lives for him, he was ashamed. He poured the water out before the Lord as a drink offering, because he couldn't let it touch his lips.
Today's story is the last one for "Water, Rivers, and Streams". Tomorrow we start something new. Get out your King James. 😇
