There are no effective replacements for capitalism. The question is: what is the Christian responsibility for the proper functioning of it, and to what extent can we steer the whole of capitalist production to serve genuinely human ends as they are articulated by the Christian faith? Now that will be my question.
One of the things about capitalism, about economic opportunity is it provides a person a really fundamental, almost elemental— element of hope in their lives so I can improve my lot in life; I can do better; I can provide for a family; I can be elevated and lifted out of this grinding poverty that I've been. It connects very deeply. This is the kind of thing that causes somebody, say, who's struggling to just start operating a beauty salon in their house. …A Reagan conservative would support the web of consumer protection laws that exist, that would support the web of workplace safety and the guardrails placed on the production of our food. All of these things are fettering the market, but are also designed to try to maintain a fundamental sense of equity in the process and to limit exploitation.
And I think a lot of our arguments about capitalism aren't so much about capitalism as a concept itself. But what they become is an argument about to what extent should we put those safeguards on capitalism to maintain a degree of equity in the system.

It's called The Free Market Economy AKA Free Enterprise, the marketplace which is FREE from gov't interference.
Capitalism isn’t perfect, but at least it has solutions to its problems. Socialists, on the other hand, won’t even admit that socialism even has problems. You can’t fix something that you won’t admit is broken.
Capitalism, we should try it again sometime. It works best without government picking winners and losers like the Mussolini version we have here today.
And that includes requiring government licenses, inspections, rules and taxes over everything. Try to set up a stand selling tomatoes or lemonade and watch Leviathan swing into action. Same for anything that presents the slightest competition to the oligarchy.
TikTok is a recent example. Wildly successful, utterly blowing away X and instagram and Facebook. Zuckerberg runs screaming to his bought and paid for Congressmen and makes them ban it or sell it to an oligarch under US Government control.
Or forget that, try to open a local radio or TV station.
Free enterprise hasn’t existed here for quite a while.
I prefer unequally distributed capitalism, to socialist equality. (Which incidentally is never equal at all)

The unconstitutional and, thus, illegal, FDA has done WAY more harm than good.
The unconstitutional FDA and HHS need to be dismantled. Do you think these distant bureaucrat care at all about your health? They care about ONE THING: how are they going to INCREASE their paychecks by growing their bureaucracy. That’s it.
Here is a sampling of reasons unconstitutional gov’t “healthcare” AKA Death Protocol should be abolished.
1) Gov’t takeover of healthcare is unconstitutional and, thus, illegal. Nowhere does the Constitution delegate power to the feds to meddle in healthcare.

3) Gov’t healthcare puts your individual healthcare in the hands of distant, indifferent, and non-medial D.C. bureaucrats and politicians who of course as middlemen must be paid and, thus, increasing the cost of healthcare. The HHS bureaucracy has a budget of $1 trillion.
4) The highest quality, most affordable, and most available healthcare in the world is what we had in the voluntary cooperation DIRECTLY between doctor and patient before the gov’t muscled in in the 50’s and 60’s with its “helping hand” hand out and a hammer behind his back! As Ronald Reagan said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help’”.
5) Gov’t hammer? What hammer? Forced vaccines, forced abortions, forced treatment all by distant politicians and bureaucrats who are not medical experts and do not know you personally.
6) Gov’t agenda vs. your own personal agenda. Who cares more about your health? You? Or some distant politician and bureaucrat who doesn’t know you from Adam and frankly couldn’t care less about you personally?
7) No one cares more about your health than you. Why in the world would you take your personal healthcare and your personal choices in the self interest of your health and wellbeing out of the hands of the DIRECT relationship between you and the doctor of your choosing who knows and cares about you, and instead put your healthcare in the hands gov’t politicians and bureaucrats who don’t know you, have the power to force you to do what they want, and who have their own agenda which includes “culling” the “overpopulation” - so gov’t has a bias toward your death.
8) That is a short list. There’s more but why would anyone need more reasons? NUKE UNCONSTITUTIONAL GOV’T HEALTHCARE!!!
No.... I do not believe in FDA food regulations. If anyone makes poison and dangerous food, it will soon be found out and killed through lawsuits and publicity.
FDA food regulations gave us hydrogenated oil trans fats, rapeseed lubricating oil as “Canola oil”, High Fructose Corn Syrup, the vilification of butter, the vaunted “Food Pyramid”, the Covid shot, etc. The list is endless.
Meat recalls at FDA approved meat packers are common. Sickness from buying a butchered half a beef direct from the rancher are unheard of.
Upton Sinclair was a hard core Socialist who bitterly opposed capitalism.
Yeah, once you give government control of all the capital, who do you think ends up with all the capital, sooner or later?

Trading things for profit has been around a long time.
Christian capitalism, a combination of the reformation and the rise of a search for truth, is the magic elixer.
Capitalism without Christian ethics and morals does not work well.
