The Bible teaches not only that we can gain eternal life by placing our trust in Jesus Christ, but that we can know it with certainty. If you aren’t yet living in the assurance of God’s promises about your future, today’s episode is perfect for you!
Video is 25:34 mins long.

If salvation is not works-based in any way, you can know because your trust is in Jesus, not in your own self-righteousness. If it depends on yourself, you’ll never have assurance because you’ll never know if you’ve done enough. Read Ephesians 2:8-9.
Yup.
If works are involved, then people would say to God *You owe me because I did ________*.
And they’d be able to boast about what special people they are for doing such a good job, they got into heaven.
We see lots of that on some threads posted in the RF.
None of us is likely to have done enough in our lives to have salvation. We must trust in Jesus for that.
My post #32 is a first hand witness to life after death. I assure you, you are an eternal being.
Since the Lord’s resurrection and forgiveness for all sin, ALL have eternal life, whether they want it or not.
No one can, there is no likely. Salvation through faith in Christ alone.
James 2:17, 18 answers this quite nicely
All have eternal life whether they want it or not. Satan will rejoice at this news.
Salvation through faith is true. True faith creates obedience to Christ. Obedience to Christ will have you preforming good works.
My understanding is lacking this, you cannot be truly saved. Without this Jesus is not the Lord over your live and your savior.
“James 2:17, 18 answers this quite nicely”
It says that faith without works is dead.
Ergo, their is a works basis.
I think our dependency on the Christ is simply a matter of fact. It is the state of our being. Even if we are the most capable person in the history of mankind, you are still dependent upon the Christ because you are a human being.
The gift once received is irrevocable; it ever quits, it is not everlasting or eternal.
The one receiving it becomes the everlasting possession of The Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They will never release ownership of their possession to any other entity (Jn. 10:27-29), not to even the person whose repentant decision is effective once for all time evermore.
Holy, Holy, Holy
VERSE 1
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
VERSE 2
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea,
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who wert and art, and evermore shalt be.
VERSE 3
Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, love, and purity.
VERSE 4
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Are James and Paul liars on this? They both agree faith without works is DEAD. Are you on Heaven’s SNAP program? No works, adversity or inconvenience?
Those are ....strange, unsettling....
Well, all do live forever, but only those who go through Jesus get to spend it with God.
The rest who reject God get an eternity without Him, like they wanted. They will not be in heaven.
“Are James and Paul liars on this? They both agree faith without works is DEAD.”
I don’t understand why you are asking if they are liars?
Jesus death paid for all sin but only those who accept that gift have life with Him forever. He doesn’t force salvation on anyone.
Did you agree or disagree with James?
