My God and My King!
We Bow Down Before You in Worship.

"My friend gave me a cruise to Hawaii!" my Neighbor announced. Naturally, I was all excited for her but I couldn't imagine a cruise TO Hawaii from Boston, MA. Were they going to fly, perhaps to Miami, get on the ship there? Would they be going through the Panama Canal? Certainly they wouldn't be going around Cape Horn! Maybe they would be flying to San Francisco and picking up the Cruise Ship there. I quickly checked the itineraries of several Cruise Lines (out of curiosity), and there were a few that made the crossing. But, as I have FLOWN to Hawaii 12 times, I knew that there's a LOT of Pacific Ocean between San Francisco and Hawaii. And this person had often expressed to me her morbid fear of the Sea. I carefully pointed out to her that should could be DAYS on the High Seas with nothing but Blue Pacific as far as she could see in every direction.

"That's OK. I'll just stay in the cabin the whole time."

It turned out that the cruise was a circular tour around the Hawaiian Islands that stopped in various ports, beginning and ending in Honolulu. The direct flight from Boston to Oahu only had one stop and would be 11 to 12 hours. That was more like it! She would always be in sight of land. She's there now and will be home early next week.

Her fear of the ocean is not irrational...it's huge! Most of Planet Earth is Ocean. My neighbor had never been out of the Continental USA, so she had no idea what a "Cruise TO Hawaii" entailed. Luckily, it was a Cruise AROUND Hawaii, which is much easier to manage.

Still, even with all our advanced technology, there are occasional disasters at sea. Native Hawaiians love the Sea, but also Respect it. "Never turn your back on the Ocean" is one of the first things children are taught. But...they are also taught surfing, and one often sees the little ones tackling a wave.

After listening to his "friends" pontificate for what seems like days, Job finally hears from God. God impresses His Omnipotence and Creative Power with a little sarcasm...Have you ever seen the origins of the ocean? Or even measured My Creation?

Job and his "friends" are overwhelmed..as if by a Tsunami.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)
