đşđ¸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem đŽđą(10/29/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
1 Samuel 30:9-25
9Â David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind. 10Â Two hundred of them were too exhausted to cross the valley, but David and the other four hundred continued the pursuit.
11Â They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eatâ 12Â part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.
13Â David asked him, âWho do you belong to? Where do you come from?â
He said, âI am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite. My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago. 14Â We raided the Negev of the Kerethites, some territory belonging to Judah and the Negev of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag.â
15Â David asked him, âCan you lead me down to this raiding party?â
He answered, âSwear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them.â
16Â He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah. 17Â David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled. 18Â David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. 19Â Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. 20Â He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, âThis is Davidâs plunder.â
21Â Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow him and who were left behind at the Besor Valley. They came out to meet David and the men with him. As David and his men approached, he asked them how they were. 22Â But all the evil men and troublemakers among Davidâs followers said, âBecause they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.â
23Â David replied, âNo, my brothers, you must not do that with what the Lord has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiding party that came against us. 24Â Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.â 25Â David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our God, Lord of All The Earth!
You Are LORD over all Your Creation,
And all Creation bows down to You!
You Created Matter and Energy,
Light and Life,
Atoms and Molecules.
You designed the Laws of Physics
You Can Make The Waters of the Sea Part and Stand in a Heap.
You Designed it, and it Is Yours.
You Are the LORD over all the Earth!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
âThe Greatest Of these Is Love.â

This somewhat long Passage illustrates an important military principle. The Soldiers who are providing support and materiel are just as important as those who are doing the actual fighting. It also shows how David was able to obtain valuable intelligence just by giving a thirsty man a drink of water. Sometimes we are surrounded by water, and still not be able to drink it. This is a story about an event that happened in the early 2000s.
It was only 3.5 hours to Orlando by Turnpike, and 4 by I95, with a 50 mile arrow-straight road from the Coast to the center of the state, straight as can be through the orange groves and farmland of Florida. This road was so straight and featureless that it was locally known as "The Bee Line", as in "Straight as a bee line from Melbourne to Orlando." Hubby Mike and I chose this route, as it would have been $26.00 in tolls on the Turnpike. We packed our clothes, laptop computer, cell phones, and toiletries into our "waterproof" Tour Packs and headed out.
The I95, though more congested, was more scenic, and in some places one could even see the ocean, so it seemed like a good idea. For 3 hours it was mostly smooth sailing, except for some construction in Delray Beach which cut into our time a bit. After about three and a half hours on the road, we took the Ramp onto the Bee Line. Ahead of us stretched a little over 50 miles of smooth highway with no bridges, obstructions, or even "shoulders" on either side of the road. It had gotten dark, and we looked forward to a nice leisurely soak in the the Hotel Pool in Orlando!
Without Warning, a horrendous tropical storm hit. Since there were no bridges to hide beneath, nowhere to change into raingear, we soldiered on, very slowly, very far to the right because visibility was ZERO. Huge farm trucks rumbled past us, sending up monstrous rooster tails of muddy water, drenching us thoroughly. By the time we got to Orlando, we were covered in wet mud and squished across the Hotel Lobby to check in. The Concierge was the only one available, so we went to her desk, which was covered in brochures for the local attractions. Mike picked up one, looked the concierge in the eye and said:
"I'll take two tickets for "WET AND WILD".
The Bee Line Parkway has since gotten a name change. It could be that the expression "Take a beeline" is no longer a part of the local idiom, and so didn't make sense to people. A few signs remain with the cartoon bumblebee on it, but only the older folks know what it meant. Nevertheless, it still is straight and featureless, and still, as far as I know, has NO REFUGE.
The feeling I remember most about the Beeline was my incredible THIRST, even though I was surrounded by water.
(By The Way, the Laptop Computer, which was filled with water, was repaired by Mike using the hotel hair dryer.)
Please remember the People in Jamaica in prayer. This hurricane was a bad one.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
âLet us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.â (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, âMy refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.â
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.
