[Catholic Caucus] Prevost: “No one possesses the whole truth”

[Catholic Caucus] Prevost: “No one possesses the whole truth”

The most attractive thing about the Catholic Church is that it is the Pillar of Truth (1Tim 3:15). It is the very gatekeeper of Truth; the spotless Bride of Truth Himself, Jesus Christ (Eph 5:27). If someone were to say that the Church does not possess the Truth of Jesus Christ, or that His Vicar is not the vector of Truth on earth, or that our Lord did not establish the hierarchical nature of the Church to receive and transmit the Truth (John 16:13), that person would be a heretic, and obviously so.

Contemplating the mystery of ecclesial communion, generated and preserved by the Holy Spirit, we can also understand the meaning of synodal teams and participatory bodies. They express what occurs within the Church, where relationships do not respond to the logic of power but to that of love. The former – to recall a constant warning from Pope Francis – is a “worldly” logic.  Conversely, in the Christian community, primacy belongs to the spiritual life, which reveals to us that we are all children of God, brothers and sisters, called to serve one another.

The supreme rule in the Church is love. No one is called to dominate; all are called to serve. No one should impose his or her own ideas; we must all listen to one another. No one is excluded; we are all called to participate. No one possesses the whole truth; we must all humbly seek it and seek it together.

The very word “together” expresses the call to communion in the Church. Pope Francis reminded us of this in his final Message for Lent: “…to journey together. The Church is called to walk together, to be synodal. Christians are called to walk at the side of others, and never as lone travelers. The Holy Spirit impels us not to remain self-absorbed, but to leave ourselves behind and keep walking towards God and our brothers and sisters. Journeying together means consolidating the unity grounded in our common dignity as children of God” (Message for Lent, 25 February 2025).

His constantly quoting his most beloved heresiarch who preceded him is another dead giveaway. Wake up. This is not Catholic.

As they shut down one Latin Mass community after another.

Has Prevost accepted the title Vicar General of Christ on Earth, an office fillable by one man, and one man only?

Bergoglio was known to have “memory-holed” that title (unaccountably deleted from the Vatican Yearbook), so, presumably, to remove yet another stumbling block to our so-called “separated brethren”.

Such an attitude tacitly gives free reign to “non-Catholic Christians” to think and do and say what they will without receiving a negative word from an obsequious Vatican City. As if the noted vicarship is shared, or doesn’t even exist.

Yet as you note there is utter liturgical tyranny reigning within the diocesan system, hamfisted local ordinaries running roughshod on actual Catholic faithful.

It’s Bizarro World.

Non-Veni Mark, Anthony Stine, both justifiably finding this notion being pushed by the New Synodal Church (that is, that no one person possesses the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth) utterly incompatible with the One True Faith.

The Bible says we hear Christ through the words of his Apostles, which, through Apostolic Succession, means that the modern-day Bishops possess the whole truth.

Not that they seem willing to pronounce it.

The Bible says we hear Christ through the words of his Apostles,
= = =

Can we hear Christ through reading the words of The Bible itself?

Scripture, and tradition, SB.

Scripture and tradition.

You realize, do you not, that Scripture itself is tradition?

Catholicism is not a “religion of the book.” Rather, it is the religion of the “Word” of God (CCC 108).

I don’t see the reference to the Catholic religion in that verse.

That's your loss. May the veil be removed from your eyes.
