God bless Charlie Kirk for telling the TRUTH about this “gender” issue. The drug-soaked, burned-out hippie-generated “male-chauvinist-pig” “toxic masculinity” is a phony, non-issue.
The issue for a long time has been the “Women’s Libbers” (”Libbers” meaning “Castraters”): the Hippies/Leftist celebration of rebellious women and the Women’s Movement.
The issue of the day is, as Charlie Kirk unflinchingly said, is “Toxic Feminism” and women that hate men and/or rebellious against the man/husband being the head of the family - THE REASON for the high divorce rate nobody is talking about, the destruction of the family, and resulting downfall of society.
I am a Christian. I take issue with venerating anyone other than Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit.
I believe Mary, Esther, Ruth, Deborah and other biblical woman should be honored and respected for their roles in the bible. But veneration is about devotion which creeps into the territory of giving something belonging to God to a mortal. There I draw the line.
Some churches have jumped the shark in that regard, but they are wrong.
I am reminded of John the Baptist’s words about Jesus:
John 3:30 - 31
30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Mary is of the Earth.

Kirk went onto explain that he stops short of believing Mary was sinless and embracing all the Catholic dogma surrounding her.
His nuance of perspective and ability to be critical, rather than tribal when lending perspective on important issues that even divide conservatives set an example, and will be sorely missed.
Mary was assumed into heaven.
shut up
Whatever.....
You do your way and Catholics will do ours.
Bfl
I’m assuming you wouldn’t disagree with his main premise, that Mary is a great role model for women. I think Protestants and Catholics could agree she was certainly holy, just as the Apostles were holy. We may disagree on her role in salvation, her being Queen of Heaven, etc., but I’m hoping we have common ground on the role model aspect.
Yes, she is blessed among woman. But NO human is worthy of veneration or worship.
She also had no special status among the Apostles.
She was not sinless.
She needed Her Son to Save Her just like all of us.
And she was not “full of grace”.
Stephen on the other hand is described as being “full of grace” in Acts 6:8, as was of course Jesus in John 1:14.
Mary is a distraction IMHO.
Folks need to focus on Jesus only. Only He Saves.
Acts 4:12
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
This is one of the many problems I have with Catholicism. Mary had a baby, so have billions of women! Yes she was blessed by God but she does not warrant being treated like a deity. She needed Jesus to die for her sins just like every other person. I am sure that had Mary not existed God would have found another female in David’s lineage to birth Jesus. We are to worship God which is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. By worshipping Mary the Catholics are placing her as another God which like much of Catholic doctrine is UNBIBLICAL.
Never in Scripture. Never in Apostolic teaching.
sez who? chapter and verse please or mind your own advice
Well put
My Protestant Brothers and Sisters, please calm down! All Kirk said, if you read his words, was Mary is a great role model. Admittedly, he said Protestants “under venerate” her, but his main point was… “what a great role model”. Nobody in this thread tried to turn this into a “let’s all venerate Mary” dialogue. Your visceral reaction anytime someone mentions Mary, regardless of the context of the comment or article, should cause you concern and make you wonder where the reaction comes from.
“Mary was assumed into heaven.”
Chapter?
Verse?
LSD?
Where in the bible does it say that?
Absolutely CORRECT!
AMEN
A friend of mine from the local Calvary Chapel who immigrated from Guatemala told me that many Latin American Roman Catholics venerate Mary as a goddess who outranks Jesus.
