Your Heart Will Determine The Outcome Not Your Flesh
10-10-25 | Frank Broom

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Your heart will determine the outcome not your flesh, your flesh has no authority. Notice, if you put the right words in your heart they are healing to your flesh. What you have working in your heart is more important than what's working in your flesh. You have to be careful about reading and doing research about your condition because those words are going into your heart. And whatever words you are more full of that's what your faith will be in, so whose words are going to have 1st place in your heart. Now, I'm not saying it's wrong to be knowledgeable, I'm just saying watch what words you allow into your heart. You can look up for yourself, there's a condition called Medical Student Syndrome. It's where medical student's bodies start carrying out the symptoms of the sicknesses they are studying. Well, where do you think those words are going, in the heart. And sometimes they act like it is a mystery, but if they sought The Bible they would see it's not a mystery. Your heart has powerful effects on your body and so do words that goes in your heart. In Proverbs 18:14 it reads, The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, But who can bear a broken spirit? In Proverbs 17:22 it reads, A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. And how about Proverbs 15:30 it reads, The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy. And a lot of times people only focus on the body, but let me show you something about your body, it's only a follower. You see in James 3:1-4: 1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

Notice, the tongue in relation to the body, he says the body of the horse goes whichever way the tongue directs. He further goes on about a ship, understand, the ship is your body, the helm is your tongue(words), and you (spirit man) is the governor/captain. Each time you speak in line with the conditions you are directing your ship. In fact, if you look up the word body in the concordance it is the word-soma- which means slave. Your body is a slave, it follows orders/directions. Let me tell you what happened to me, I've told this before and it's so relevant. When I was a child and even now I love bananas and what happened one time is when I ate one I got sick to my stomach terribly and from that time on I decided I could not eat bananas and whenever someone offered me something with bananas I was quick to tell them I can't eat them. Even as an adult I figured maybe that it had passed so I tried eating them and again I got sick to my stomach. But, then something happened when I was watching TV, I was watching this man teaching on the power of the tongue. And he said, "Some of you ate something one time and got sick and started telling people you can't eat it, if your words got you there then your words will get you out of it." It was like God was speaking right to me, I thought to myself that I had done that exact thing. So, what did I do I started speaking, "I can eat bananas" and in maybe a few months I heard a voice on the inside of me, "Go ahead and take one" because my father kept fruit in the house and when I did it had no ill effect on me. Notice, in both instances my body followed my words, it only did as I said. Look at the effect my words had on my body. Don't tell me words don't have power. The problem was never bananas, the problem was my words. The words I was putting in my heart.

Look at Acts 14:7-10 7 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. Suppose those words didn't go in his heart, do you think he would have received that healing. I know the word entered his heart because Paul perceived that he had faith to be healed. Nobody prayed for the man, nobody laid hands on him, nobody called on the name of Jesus, it was his heart and the word that worked that healing. Jesus said something very powerful in Mark 4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested. That word hid means inward(in your heart) and the word manifested means visible/clearly seen (that's in your life/body). If you follow that chapter what's hidden is words and they are hidden in the heart of man/not your blood pump. Notice, words went in the man's heart and a manifestation came out. We have to learn to take words seriously, because words have effects. Notice, words went in my heart each time (Romans 10:8) and a manifestation came out each time. Well, Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. You will have the fruit of your lips. Your heart is very important in receiving healing. What did Jesus tell the 2 blind men that came to him to heal them, according to your faith/heart so be it done unto you. What did Jesus say to the woman with the issue of blood, your faith/heart has made you whole. And if you read the rest of that account you will see her words were very important in her receiving her healing and her words matched what she received. And you see the same thing with the centurion in Matthew 8 his words and heart matched what he received.

People give the focus to what is seen and felt, but what does 2 Corinthians 4:17,18 say, For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Things not seen(spiritual) have effects on things that are seen(physical), Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Well, your words and heart (not seen) have effects on your body (seen). You know words have effects because the scripture says, words are health to your flesh. How can words be health to all your flesh, by manifesting. Proverbs 4:22 says, God's word is health-medicine/remedy/healing/cure. Notice, it says to keep the word in your heart, like what Jesus said, if you hide the word in your heart it will manifest. John 1:14 says, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. The word manifested a full flesh body, what makes you think it can't manifest the healing of the flesh. Do not neglect the word and your heart, they are an unbeatable combination.

It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Good stuff.

Proverbs is really a study of the life of Christ imputed to us by grace vs. the works of the world, the flesh , and the devil.

[C]ease from your own wisdom. Prov. 23:4.

Iggeres HaRamban - The Ramban’s Letter
(Written to his elder son, Nachman, with the instruction to read it weekly.)

Hear, my son, the instruction of your father and don’t forsake the teaching of your mother (Mishlei 1:8). Get into the habit of always speaking calmly to everyone. This will prevent you from anger, a serious character flaw which causes people to sin...

You can’t separate a person from their sin. Which is why sin is so dangerous and Jesus died to save us from it

Something about arrangement of a meeting. Raping an 11 year old girl comes to mind.

Why did Jesus die on a cross? What did He accomplish?

And what do you do with Luke 19:10 - “For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”

Or the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son?

I was pretty confused by that reply as well. Seemed to come out of left field.
