🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(10/4/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Nahum 1:3-4

13  The Lord is slow to anger but great in power;
    the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm,
    and clouds are the dust of his feet.

4  He rebukes the sea and dries it up;
    he makes all the rivers run dry.
Bashan and Carmel wither
    and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Lord and our God
How Wonderful Your Are!
Your Love is Overwhelming,
It Transcends Everything Our Hearts Can Imagine.
How Amazing Is Your Promise of Redemption
Your Sheltering Branch that Crosses the Millennia of History
From Generation To Generation.
Keeping Us in Your Care,
Linking Us With Our Past,
And Yet, Making All Things New.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

My fifth birthday was only a week away, so I should not have been concerned about it, but I remember my Dad reading the newspaper, and growling, "The Commies put a satellite in space! How could they have beaten us?" It was from that moment that I became interested in the Space Program just like Dad.

One Day, Dad came home from work with a little square (about 4" x 4") of shiny material. He handed it to me and said:

"If you can tear this, I'll give you a dollar! They're making America's FIRST Satellite out of it."

Well, you can bet, I worried that piece of materiel to death, but I couldn't tear it. I finally used scissors, and Dad said that there are no scissors in Space so I didn't get the dollar.

When Echo 1 was launched in August of 1960, Dad took me out into the back yard and pointed to the faint light racing across the sky. Then, our family's favorite president said we would go to the Moon and return safely to earth, and I was HOOKED!

When the Russians beat us again with the single orbit of Yuri Gagarin, I was devastated. Not only that, but it was reported that Gagarin said something to the effect that he looked around up there and didn't see God. (I later learned that Yuri Gagarin was a devout Christian, and that Khrushchev put those words in his mouth. The Things We Learn as Time Goes By.)

In the second grade, the teacher rolled a big AV Cart into the room and we watched Alan Shepherd being launched into a sub-orbital flight. We prayed for his safety, and he was returned to us safe. The American Space program seemed too cautious compared to the Russians, and so they had a lot more "Firsts" than we did. It was annoying to say the least.

I did my 4th grade science project on "John Glenn's Orbits". I painstakingly made a paper-mache planet earth and inscribed the three wavy lines around it, launching from Cape Canaveral and splashing down in the Pacific.

One cool thing about the American Space Program was that God was never banished from it. We prayed for each and every one of the Mercury Astronauts, agonized in public national prayer when there was a malfunction or miscalculation during the Gemini/Skylab flights, and mourned deeply when the Apollo 1 Crew was incinerated in their capsule during training.

During the Apollo Program there were numerous references to the Judeo/Christian God, such as The Apollo 8 Christmas Eve Reading from Genesis in 1968, and Buzz Aldrin's taking of Communion on the Moon. We were not ashamed to be Americans, nor were we ashamed to believe in God.

On January 28, 1986, I was hanging wallpaper in the guest room watching the latest launch of the Space Shuttle. Space Travel had become somewhat routine, but I still like to watch the launches. Then, of course, there was the worst disaster NASA had suffered so far in all the years of the Space Program.

The whole Nation went into mourning, and President Reagan read the beautiful Air Force Poem about "touching the face of God". As far as I can recall, nobody criticized him for being "religious" in that moment of time.

I still love to look at NASA Photos of the Earth and Space. Because of the absence of air and dirt particles, the pictures have an amazing clarity and hard-edged beauty that transcend even modern digital photography. The contrast between light and darkness is absolute. There are no "fuzzy" areas.

The Prophet Nahum didn't need a Space Telescope or Communications Satellite to hear from God. His name "Nahum" means "Comfort", and his ministry was to provide the People with God's Words of Comfort during difficult times. One way of doing this was to convince the People of two things: God's Infinite Justice, and Infinite Mercy. These two qualities seem to be diametrically opposed, but since God is Almighty and Sovereign, He can be both at the same time. Like that little square of Echo 1, God's Power over the Earth may seem fragile and transparent, but is, in fact, incredibly strong. The Power of Life and Death, War and Peace, Storm or Calm, Abundance or Famine, is in His Hands.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Amen, good word. The creator of the universe holds it all together and sustains it. May we understand his great love for us and turn our hearts to him.

She was a widow who, like Erika Kirk, forgave her husband’s murderers and brought the Gospel to them.

Psalm 7

A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning Cush, a Benjaminite.

1 O Lord my God, in you I take refuge;
save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me,
2 or like a lion they will tear me apart;
they will drag me away, with no one to rescue.

3 O Lord my God, if I have done this,
if there is wrong in my hands,
4 if I have repaid my ally with harm
or plundered my foe without cause,
5 then let the enemy pursue and overtake me,
trample my life to the ground,
and lay my soul in the dust.
Selah

6 Rise up, O Lord, in your anger;
lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies;
awake, O my God;* you have appointed a judgement.
7 Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered around you,
and over it take your seat* on high.
8 The Lord judges the peoples;
judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness
and according to the integrity that is in me.

9 O let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
but establish the righteous,
you who test the minds and hearts,
O righteous God.
10 God is my shield,
who saves the upright in heart.
11 God is a righteous judge,
and a God who has indignation every day.

12 If one does not repent, God* will whet his sword;
he has bent and strung his bow;
13 he has prepared his deadly weapons,
making his arrows fiery shafts.
14 See how they conceive evil,
and are pregnant with mischief,
and bring forth lies.
15 They make a pit, digging it out,
and fall into the hole that they have made.
16 Their mischief returns upon their own heads,
and on their own heads their violence descends.

17 I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,
and sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.
