🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(9/17/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Psalm 104:10-18

10  He makes springs pour water into the ravines;
    it flows between the mountains.

11  They give water to all the beasts of the field;
    the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

12  The birds of the sky nest by the waters;
    they sing among the branches.

13  He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
    the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

14  He makes grass grow for the cattle,
    and plants for people to cultivate—
    bringing forth food from the earth:

15  wine that gladdens human hearts,
    oil to make their faces shine,
    and bread that sustains their hearts.

16  The trees of the Lord are well watered,
    the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.

17  There the birds make their nests;
    the stork has its home in the junipers.

18  The high mountains belong to the wild goats;
    the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.

Oh LORD,
Our One and Only God!

Some words I wrote some time ago about Toxic things:(Lies, Propaganda, Slander, Rumors, etc)

Mom used to tell a cautionary tale about some lady artists who were employed in a watch factory back in the 1920s. I believe she told me this story because she saw me putting a paintbrush in my mouth to make a nice, fine point for painting the details on a watercolor.

These lady artists were painting "glow-in-the-dark" watch faces, which required a steady hand, and a very fine point on the brush to paint those tiny numbers and embellishments. The problem was that the glow-in-the-dark paint contained RADIUM, a radioactive substance (which is why it glowed...duh) that killed its discoverer Marie Curie (famous lady scientist and a hero of mine back then). The lady artists were later afflicted with various oral cancers and died horribly, and the watch companies stopped using radium paint.

Turns out, Mom's story was true. The Women became known as "The Radium Girls".

More recently, a TV program about "drugs in America" told the story of the "Patent Medicine" craze that was prevalent in 19th Century America, and provided a stock character for Western Movies (Dr. Sylvester's MIRACULOUS ELIXIR! CURES EVERYTHING FROM BALDNESS TO FEMALE TROUBLE!!!!!) These Cure-Alls were made up of mostly alcohol, cocaine, and opium, and while there was no actual cure, the patient didn't seem to care.

Now, every other commercial on TV is for some prescription medication that can only be dispensed by a physician. What value there is in flooding the airwaves with ads for products that people can't BUY without consulting a doctor is beyond me!

The opposite extreme is eschewing EVERYTHING and becoming a totally organic macrobiotic Vegan who eats only brown rice that has been cooked over a wood fire and each grain chewed EXACTLY 47 times. I actually had a student like that in Florida. She was rushed to the hospital one day to the emergency room in a state of total collapse. Her husband, a prominent plastic surgeon, was mortified beyond belief when his colleagues at the hospital informed him that his beloved wife had been saved from the brink of death from MALNUTRITION!

Now, where on earth is this all leading? We know from other letters that Paul suffered from some kind of physical ailment. Not only that, he was in prison, and not a "nice "prison either. Yet, he pens these words, under the Influence of The Holy Spirit, to comfort and encourage the Church in Philippi:

whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

This is not mere "Positive Thinking" or "Self-Help". Paul tells us to have "The Mind of Christ" and dwell upon the GOOD things. Do not focus on evil. Do not list your troubles. STOP LICKING THAT RADIUM COATED PAINTBRUSH!

Amen?

Righteous Anger over Injustice is Appropriate. Seeking Justice is Appropriate. Self-Defense and Defense of Loved Ones is Appropriate too. God is a God of Justice as well as Grace and Mercy. May we not be blinded by the onslaught of propaganda, and Make the Right Choices in the Days Ahead.
