What I Like About the Catholics - It Is Written with George Vandeman (A Seventh day Adventist long passed away)

Pastor Vandeman I can think of several things which I really appreciate about Catholic people on a personal level.

What I like is the way they have treated me during those five years I spent there in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

You see they accepted me as a separated brother but in reality they treated me as a real Christian brother with love respect and kindness blending on a more general way. What I like about the Catholics is the dedicated way in which they perform their religious exercises.

I was privileged while studying there at the Vatican University in Rome to observe my professors priests and monks spend in the early hours of the day reading and meditating upon spiritual reality and the impact of that of the and pleasant disposition.

I also greatly admire the sacrificial spirit of countless priests monks and nuns like Mother Teresa who have served and are serving without thought of personal sacrifice they need the suffering the forgotten of our society today and I agree with you 100%.

Now what do you like about Catholic teaching I like to say first of all that as a Protestant there are several Catholic teaching that you can understand I find unacceptable such as transubstantiation Immaculate Conception papal infallibility and primacy on the other hand, however there are certain unique Catholic teachings which I not only admire but I believe that they are very relevant to our time I'm thinking particularly of the Roman Catholic commitment to the preservation of the sacredness of marriage and of the sanctity of human life.

We live in a society today where many Christians have come to view marriage for example as a civil social institution that can be readily dissolved when circumstance is called for.

This is from a televised Seventh day Adventist Program that started in the 60s or 70s called IT IS WRITTEN. Adventist pastor the late George Vandeman once had a series called "What I like about......." What I like about Catholics, What I like about Baptists, What I like about Mormons, etc.

I wonder if we would get along better if we approached other Christian denominations and ever religions with the words....."What I like about......."

This was such a beautiful program.....

His guest quoted above, was Dr. Samuele Bacchiochi, a Seventh day Adventist Protestant and Bible scholar who received his Ph’d from the Pontifical Gregorian University at the Vatican. His thesis was on the history of the change of the Sabbath to Sunday.

Both men are long passed away. Sleeping and awaiting their call to come up for their allotted inheritanace. Just like God told Daniel he would go to his rest and come up for his allotted inheritance at the 2nd coming.

Charlie Kirk’s book coming out is a book on the Bible Sabbath, the 7th day Sabbath. He shows it’s origin and how it changed his life.

If you want to read a history of the Sabbath change.....you will find no better book than Dr. Bacchiochi’s. In my opinion. Blessings to all.

Almost every flag in town including the one in front of the woke Lutheran church has been half staff since 9/10. The local Catholic church is noticeably flying full staff as of this morning. I’m shocked not shocked.
