The Dominican priest and spiritual assistant to the Synod of the World, Timothy Radcliffe, has acknowledged homosexual Catholics in permanent relationships. In a contribution to the Vatican newspaper "L'Osservatore Romano", the 79-year-old religious wrote last week that he is on a "synodal path with homosexual Catholics".
He stressed that the challenge for homosexuals, as for everyone else, is to learn to express love appropriately, while respecting the dignity of others. "I am convinced of the fundamental wisdom of ecclesiastical doctrine, but I do not yet fully understand how it can be lived by young homosexual Catholics who want to accept their sexuality and rightly express their affection," says Radcliffe. This cannot be achieved solely by the rejection of desire. "For Saint Thomas Aquinas, our passions are the driving force of our return to God. Our needs are God-given and must be educated, purified and freed from illusory ideas."
Development of Teaching
In this context, the former head of the worldwide Dominican Order pointed to the development of the Church's doctrine, which had been renewed by "lived experience". "Homosexuals are no longer seen only in terms of sexual acts, but as our brothers and sisters who, according to Pope Francis, can be blessed," Radcliffe concluded.
In addition to Radcliffe, the well-known American Jesuit James Martin also spoke out about the handling of LGBTQ Catholics last week. He denounced prejudice and discrimination against homosexual people at the Synod of the World and called for LGBTQ people not to be stereotyped, but as human beings. The World Synod will go from 2nd to 27th. October in Rome in their final phase. The global synodal process, which has been running since 2021, aims at a new culture of counselling and decision-making in the Catholic Church. 368 women and men from all continents participate in the World Synod. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. I guess the man hasn’t studied The Holy Bible very much.
Perhaps he should read Leviticus 18 through 25. He might also peruse Paul’s first chapter to the Romans. This is discussed in very explicit language.

You don't understand it, because it's impossible. "Homosexual Catholic" is a contradiction in terms.
