🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(8/23/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Joshua 15:1-12
Allotment for Judah
15 The allotment for the tribe of Judah, according to its clans, extended down to the territory of Edom, to the Desert of Zin in the extreme south.
2 Their southern boundary started from the bay at the southern end of the Dead Sea, 3 crossed south of Scorpion Pass, continued on to Zin and went over to the south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it ran past Hezron up to Addar and curved around to Karka. 4 It then passed along to Azmon and joined the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the Mediterranean Sea. This is their[a] southern boundary.
5 The eastern boundary is the Dead Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan.
The northern boundary started from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan, 6 went up to Beth Hoglah and continued north of Beth Arabah to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben. 7 The boundary then went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor and turned north to Gilgal, which faces the Pass of Adummim south of the gorge. It continued along to the waters of En Shemesh and came out at En Rogel. 8 Then it ran up the Valley of Ben Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem). From there it climbed to the top of the hill west of the Hinnom Valley at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim. 9 From the hilltop the boundary headed toward the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, came out at the towns of Mount Ephron and went down toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath Jearim). 10 Then it curved westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, ran along the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Kesalon), continued down to Beth Shemesh and crossed to Timnah. 11 It went to the northern slope of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed along to Mount Baalah and reached Jabneel. The boundary ended at the sea.
12 The western boundary is the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.
These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Blessed is Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Teach us To Stand Firm,
And Always look To You For Our Sustenance.
Keep us From Doing Whatever Seems Right In Our own Eyes,
Instead of looking to You For Our Answers.
We Pray For The Leaders of Our Nation,
May They Be Inspired and Led By You,
And Please Guide Them in All Things.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Prayers up for the uninformed rebels who cry “from the river to the sea,” yet have no idea which river or sea. God bless the enemies of your people with conviction, so their eyes may be opened to Truth, so they may find true freedom in Christ. In the Name of Jesus, amen.

In Old Episode of "Sanford and Son", Lamont decides to explore his African Roots by dressing in a dashiki and eschewing pork. He peppers his speech with Swahili words and tries desperately to impress some new friends who come from Africa. However, his new friends are appalled at the way Lamont speaks disrespectfully to his father. Of course, the repartee and the bickering between Fred and Lamont were the hallmark of the program, but the African friends are so upset by it that they actually withdraw and leave the house. But before leaving, they give Lamont a lecture about respect for his elders, which, of course, pleases Fred to no end! This episode is from a simpler time when people were not afraid to poke fun at themselves.
Nearly a half-century ago, I attended my first Passover Seder at my soon-to-become in-laws. Two of my fiance's middle-aged, single, and tragically-hip female cousins also attended, all the way from New York City. All through the meal, they disrespected my fiance's Mom, despising animal products completely, and demanding to know if the vegetables were organically grown. When Mike's Dad tried to read from the tried and true "Maxwell House Haggadah" (Passover Service), they complained that the readings were racist and sexist and encouraged plagues, vengeance, and warfare. (sigh). I said nothing, but I probably should have given those two a lecture on the lines of Lamont's African Friends.
Both Lamont and the Female Cousins were doing something similar to what is described in the Bible about Complaining. The people of the day were taking something good (fasting, cultural roots, equality, kindness to animals, healthy foods, etc) and turning it into a way of "showing off" one's spiritual superiority. In doing so, the perpetrators ignore or even transgress the greater parts of the Law, that which should be written in our hearts. In both Lamont and the "Cousins" cases that was "Honoring your Mother and Father", treating elders with respect, and just general good behavior towards others. Traditions, Religion, Culture, The Arts, and Peaceable Living are ALL wonderful things, but should never be used to foster self-righteousness and cruelty to others. We have a new word for this kind of behavior, called "Virtue Signaling". It is just as obnoxious with its new name as it was in the Days of Joshua!
In Today's Reading, Joshua is dividing the Promised Land according to the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Larger Families are given more land, the Location of which was chosen by lot (presumably, Joshua prayed before casting the lots, knowing God would indicate the best region for each Tribe.) Rivers, Streams, Lakes, and seas were obvious Boundaries, and served well.
Nevertheless, there was some quarreling and disrespect that arose after the boundaries were drawn. Things like "There are too many trees there, and we will have to cut them down to plant our crops!"or "The guys who live there have Iron Chariots!" and so on. There was even a family that had produced only daughters, whose pleas actually encouraged a very early expression of Women's Rights. Their plea was legitimate, but a lot of the other complaints were just bickering, like Fred and Lamont.
And, like Lamont's African Friends, Joshua was probably APPALLED.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Indeed. When asked which “River” they are talking about, or which “Sea”, they haven’t a clue.

Psalm 57
To the leader: Do Not Destroy. Of David. A Miktam, when he fled from Saul, in the cave.
1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
until the destroying storms pass by.
2 I cry to God Most High,
to God who fulfils his purpose for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me,
he will put to shame those who trample on me.
Selah
God will send forth his steadfast love and his faithfulness.
4 I lie down among lions
that greedily devour* human prey;
their teeth are spears and arrows,
their tongues sharp swords.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.
Let your glory be over all the earth.
6 They set a net for my steps;
my soul was bowed down.
They dug a pit in my path,
but they have fallen into it themselves.
Selah
7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and make melody.
8 Awake, my soul!
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn.
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens;
your faithfulness extends to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.
Let your glory be over all the earth.
