🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(8/18/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Acts 16:13
13 On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Beloved Father,
How Precious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Yesterday, I didn't get any responses on this Thread till the afternoon. At first I wondered...then I realized that it was Sunday, and most people had gone to church. Some churches have very short services, others have longer ones, depending on their emphasis. If the emphasis is on Worship, and if the church has a nice crew of musicians, the opening songs can be twenty minutes to an hour. If the church emphasizes Teaching and Preaching, that could really stretch things out. If it's Prayer that motivates the congregation, that could also lengthen the service. And...if it's all three, well you may as well book the entire day for Church.
We are so blessed to live in a Nation where we have Freedom of Religion, and can choose where we want to spend our Sundays (or Saturdays).
Paul was visiting a city that had lots of Temples, Shrines, and Synagogues. The Roman Empire didn't care if people practiced their traditional religions, as long as they didn't make trouble. In fact, Rome had all kinds of shrines to various gods and goddesses, and some Romans paid their respects to all of them.
The Jews, however, were a different issue. They equated the Worship of their One God with their Ethnic and National Identity, which was irksome to the Romans. This would eventually erupt into war and the total destruction of Jerusalem.
So here we have Paul, looking for a place to observe his Sabbath in a foreign city, and where does he go? He goes to the River, knowing it would be a place of prayer. It seems most of the worshipers at the river are women. Could it be that they felt more comfortable being off to themselves rather than in an "official" House of Worship?
Paul preached wherever there were people gathered, and he knew he would find them at the river. Evidently it was a common thing at the time.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 114
1 When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Judah became God’s* sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3 The sea looked and fled;
Jordan turned back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5 Why is it, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water.

A church service by the river sounds wonderful. The church I attend has outdoor services in parks so those walking by can hear the word and join in. It’s all about the gathering of God’s people to worship, hear the Gospel and find salvation. It’s not a building.
