🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(8/1/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Proverbs 5:15-18
15 Drink water from your own cistern
And fresh water from your own well.
16 Should your springs be dispersed abroad,
Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be yours alone
And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice in the wife of your youth.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Heavenly Father,
How Precious,
How Wonderful,
How Lovely To Be in Your Presence!
Your Name is So Hallowed,
So Holy and Pure,
and Your Lovingkindness is From Everlasting to Everlasting.
Your Love is Unsearchable,
Your Mercy Unexplainable,
Your Peace Passes Understanding!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

The following is a little parable that I just made up:
There was once a small village that had only two Psychotherapists available for people who needed counseling. Both charged the same fees, and both were covered by most health insurance companies. Their Education and Credentials were similar, and both had been in the town for as long as anyone could remember.
One of them, Dr. Posch, had a beautiful office with a secretary, who used the latest technology to keep track of the patients, appointments, and billing. Dr. Posch himself was an extremely handsome man, who had been raised in a mansion just outside of town, and never had to want for anything. In fact, he had never gotten so much as a parking ticket, and never had suffered any misfortune in his life. He had gone from a perfect High School experience to the best Medical School, and graduated at the head of his class. He was, as far as any human being could be, Perfect.
The other Psychiatrist, Dr. Binthair, always wore long sleeves to cover up old tattoos from his difficult youth. His office was neat and tidy, but certainly not fancy. He was a Combat Veteran, and had received his MD after long years of study, which was helped by the GI Bill. Once a week, he donated some time to Veterans suffering from PTSD, because he knew what Combat was like. He had been there.
I suppose, all things being equal, some would choose Dr. Posch to help them with their mental problems. There is a certain comfort in going to somebody who seems very successful. On the other hand, my personal choice would be Dr. Binthair, because there is a part of me that believes that only somebody who's "Been There" could understand my issues.
That's why I struggle a bit with Proverbs. These are words of advice from King Solomon. I imagine that Solomon, like the young Prince Siddhartha (Buddha), was raised in total luxury and isolation from evil. I imagine that both little princes had been pampered, indulged, and protected all their lives until they got out into the "real world". One could easily muse that Solomon was in no position to offer advice to the everyday "grunts" who actually experienced poverty, pain, loss, disease, and violence.
But, while we may think of Solomon as a Dr. Posch, he was actually a Dr. Binthair. His very existence was due to his father, King David, committing Adultery and Murder. His (half) brother Amnon raped his (half) sister Tamar, and his other (half) brother Absolom was killed after leading a military coup against their own father. The reason that there were so many half brothers and sisters was because David was a polygamist, which is not optimum family dynamics to say the least. Palace life was full of sex, politics, murder, intrigue, and rebellion. And here he is, talking about Marriage.
Solomon himself managed to ruin his own life with polygamy, by marrying foreign princesses as a form of diplomacy. It was not love or romance that brought these women into his home, but politics. One wonders if Solomon actually had a soulmate. Maybe there's a clue in "Song of Solomon", a romantic poem about a rural love affair, with a woman who was brown from the sun, working in her family's vineyard.
It seems that, along with getting Inspiration from the Holy Spirit to write these words about a Faithful Marriage, Solomon had also experienced what it was like NOT to have such a precious gift.
In other words...he's Been there.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 11
To the leader. Of David.
1 In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to me,
‘Flee like a bird to the mountains;*
2 for look, the wicked bend the bow,
they have fitted their arrow to the string,
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?’
4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord’s throne is in heaven.
His eyes behold, his gaze examines humankind.
5 The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,
and his soul hates the lover of violence.
6 On the wicked he will rain coals of fire and sulphur;
a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous;
he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.
