Last Night, we had a severe thunderstorm, which soaked everything, but didn't seem to cool things down very much. Today seems better, and I might get a ride in later.

When I booted up the computer this morning, all my HTML Templates, Bible Verses, and Images were all messed up. Some showed past postings, and the Verse numbers didn't match the verses. It was so weird. I spent the better half of the morning re-coding my templates for today's posting.

Electricity is such a weird thing. A bolt of lightening can set an entire forest ablaze. However, our very thoughts are formed by electrical activity between the synapses in our brains. Perhaps the Thunderstorm was what messed up my computer! It seems to be behaving itself now.

Some of you have been following the Odyssey of my Motorcycle, which came to a total halt on July 4th. The problem was electrical (as usual) and, I was anticipating a repair job in the neighborhood of $1500.00 or more. Then my car was declared unsafe at the same time, and required about $1000.00 worth of work. That's more than my entire month's income, so I was a bit distressed. Since I had no vehicle, I had to cancel several lessons which was also a loss.

Both my Auto mechanic and my Bike mechanic know my situation, and both of them did their best to mitigate the bill. My Bike mechanic even "MacIvered" an electrical connection so that I wouldn't have to replace the entire stator (a $1500 job, not including parts). Anyway, I wrote this little rap song in honor of my 32-year-old Harley, whose issues have always been electrical:

Well, It could be a tire
Or maybe just a wire
Or the voltage Regulator
(Which is like the Alternator)
Maybe I'm just skeptical
But it always seems to be electrical
The Battery tries harder
(Maybe it's the Starter)
If it's Rubber or if it's plastic
Your ride will go all spastic
You go right up to the margin
Then, your battery ain't chargin
Maybe it's the Stator,
Maybe it's the Rotor.
But it's never, ever, ever
The Internal Combustion MOTOR.

For the record, I understand how an Internal Combustion Engine works. I DON'T understand Electricity. What I do understand is that Gas, Oil, Fuel, and Electricity are all gifts from the Almighty. While we may not understand how they work, we use them every day and feel lost without them.

Today looks like a good day for a ride.
