Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Bless the LORD,
Oh My Soul,
And let All That is Within Me Bless His Most Holy Name!
Abba, Father,
We Praise and Worship You,
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
As the Nations Rage So Furiously Against You,
And Against Your People,
We Know That You Are Our Shepherd,
You lead Us,
Guide Us and Protect Us,
We Run To You and Are Safe!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

The Boston Museum of Fine Arts was a big part of my childhood and teenage years. From the first visits with my Dad to "see the mummies", to the three years I spent in the High School Art Program, the Boston MFA was my "playground". I loved the Statue "The Appeal To The Great Spirit", which stood outside the Museum. I was incensed that the statue had been allowed to get soiled by oxidation and pigeons, and wrote a poem about it. It was published in The Boston Globe, and spurred on a restoration and cleaning project. (I guess I've always been an activist, one way or the other). Now, that magnificent piece of art suffers from outraged activists of another sort, who claim that it is insulting to Native Americans. (Since when is a fit, strong, handsome, powerful, and devout image considered "offensive"? If you can stomach it, the reasons are given in the linked article above.)
Another one of my favorites at the MFA was a large painting called "The Seventh Plague". Before I knew the Story of the Exodus, and before I ever saw "The Ten Commandments", I loved that painting.
Incidentally, one of the pivotal moments in the movie, "The Ten Commandments" is when the Plague of Fiery Hail begins to fall onto Pharaoh's outdoor balcony. Yul Brenner grabs his royal robe around himself and slinks off like a scared rabbit.
Hail sometimes accompanies tornadoes, and I got a good dose of it riding my Harley after running into a tornado in Ft. Lauderdale. (some of you may remember that story). Even though I was barely going ten miles per hour on my ravaged bike (the gear shift lever had been sheared off and the bike was stuck in 2nd gear) the hail was brutal. Luckily, it didn't burst into flames on impact like the Plague of Hail in Exodus.
While it may seem that we've gone back to the Book of Exodus for Today's Passage, we are still in Psalm 105. The Psalmist evokes History from hundreds of years earlier, and doesn't sugar-coat it. It's not moral or ethical to erase History that no longer "fits the narrative". History is what it is, and shouldn't be adjusted to modern sensibilities. .
My own "Appeal to the Great Spirit" is that we shall know the Truth, and that the Truth shall set us free.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Truly magnificent statue!
You mean, you don't agree that it's "Cultural Appropriation", "Stereotypical", "White Supremecist', or "Racially Insensitive"? 😁

LOL! Not part of those groups.
I see a very spiritual rendition of a Native American warrior in communion with God, for him The Great Spirit.

That’s what I see too.
What “wokism” fails to see when they criticise Statues like this, or Team Names, or other tributes to Native Americans, is that the art is done out of admiration. Would you name your baseball team after something you despise? Would you pour your heart into a statue or painting of people you didn’t like?
Of Course not.

Psalm 62
To the leader: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
1 For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken.
3 How long will you assail a person,
will you batter your victim, all of you,
as you would a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
4 Their only plan is to bring down a person of prominence.
They take pleasure in falsehood;
they bless with their mouths,
but inwardly they curse.
Selah
5 For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God rests my deliverance and my honour;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
Selah
9 Those of low estate are but a breath,
those of high estate are a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
they are together lighter than a breath.
10 Put no confidence in extortion,
and set no vain hopes on robbery;
if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
11 Once God has spoken;
twice have I heard this:
that power belongs to God,
12 and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.
For you repay to all
according to their work.
