Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Blessed is Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
Wash us Clean, Oh LORD,
And Clothe Us In Your Righteousness.
Keep us in your care, Oh LORD,
And teach us to find our solace in You,
And keep us from grumbling and stumbling.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

My sister, knowing I'm a big fan of the JEOPARDY! TV Game Show, called me, appalled.

"I can't believe NOBODY got that clue! she exclaimed. "Nobody even rang in. What's WRONG with People?"

The clue was about a village on Maui that was an old whaling village, and featured a giant banyan tree, that recently had a devastating fire.

The winning "question" would, of course be:

"What is Lahaina?"

It would seem that the media wants to wipe Lahaina off the map in more ways than one. Nobody even mentions it anymore, even though the fire consumed an entire town less than two years ago.

Psalm 105 is a recap of the History of the Israelites, telling the story of the Exodus that had occurred hundreds of years earlier. There were no videos, cameras, recordings, or smart phones to preserve the memory of these cataclysmic events, yet the Psalmist seems to be doing a better job of it than our Modern Media.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

1 O God, the nations have come into your inheritance;
they have defiled your holy temple;
they have laid Jerusalem in ruins.
2 They have given the bodies of your servants
to the birds of the air for food,
the flesh of your faithful to the wild animals of the earth.
3 They have poured out their blood like water
all around Jerusalem,
and there was no one to bury them.
4 We have become a taunt to our neighbours,
mocked and derided by those around us.

5 How long, O Lord? Will you be angry for ever?
Will your jealous wrath burn like fire?
6 Pour out your anger on the nations
that do not know you,
