Please continue to pray for my daughter who is an addict.
She talked a good game while in jail to scam us out of commissary and phone money, but a stupid judge let her out on PR bond on condition that she call a probation officer (who she never called).
So it’s a month more on the streets before she fails to appear for her court hearing like she always does and another warrant is issued and the bail process and cycle starts all over again.
No more commissary or phone money though. I’m praying that it at least gets to that point.

UPDATE ON MYRDDIN

MYRIDDEN had a Whipple procedure this year. The Whipple procedure is an operation to treat tumors and other conditions in the pancreas, small intestine and bile ducts. It involves removing the head of the pancreas, the first part of the small intestine, the gallbladder and the bile duct. (Mayo Clinic) UPDATE: (7/7/25)
4th of July came with gastroparesis. Waiting for my stomach to resume normal operations. Life after a Whipple is a daily challenge to eat without causing another digestive fail. This time has dropped my weight from 151.7 on July 3rd to 147.4 on July 6. The prayer warriors are much appreciated.

Please pray for my two brothers who learned, in less then two weeks of each other, they both had Stage IV inoperable and untreatable cancer, both living halfway across the country from each other. On March the 27th my youngest brother, Jon, went to the Hospital Emergency Room because he could not breath. He had a collapsed lung and the doctor drained 1.6 liters of fluid from his chest.
Less than two weeks later, April 6th, my younger brother, Bob, let us know he was in the Hospital Emergency Room because he was weak and could not eat. He had lost 22 pounds (10 kg) since January.
Over a few days they found out my youngest brother, Jon, had stage IV lung cancer which had metastasized and was in his liver and his spine. Today I found out that Jon couldn't breathe again last night and was taken to the ER. My sister drove up there and arrived in time for the doctor to tell them Jon had passed on.
The Doctors found my younger brother, Bob, had spots on his peritoneum. Years ago he had a stomach suture (endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty) for weight loss but the doctors now found a tumor in that piece of stomach that has not been used. His doctor has said it is also Stage IV, is inoperable, and he is too weak to survive any other therapy. He is on home hospice care.
My sister-in-law said that the visiting hospice nurse said he has transitioned to his last days, it could be anytime. Last night my brother asked my sister-in-law, "is it time to go home? I'm ready to be with Jesus." She told him that she and my niece and nephew were ready for him to go on ahead of him.

A treatment he can only have once. He has cancer in his liver, mesentery, groin and neck area. They are terrified and asking for prayers. UPDATE ON MY HUSBAND FROM A MAJOR HEART ATTACK

UPDATE: 4/20/25 21 days after John's massive M.I., that event starting two days before either of us honestly knew that was what was going on with him on March 31st, he's been home from the hospital since April 11th.
It's been of course a slow go, his getting back his strength, being pretty scared of doing a whole lot of anything to possibly trigger another cardiac event. He's had to get used to having to wear what is called a ZOLL LifeVest, meant to keep cardiac patients alive that are at high risk for their heart going into a dangerous arrhythmia or stopping altogether. The ZOLL only activates and delivers a "treatment" (a shock meant to restore the heart's beat or from an otherwise unrecoverable arrhythmia) if it does sense that his heart has stopped and he's passed out.
However, if it senses a dangerous set of rhythms and his heart has not stopped (he's not passed out from it), he pushes two buttons simultaneously to prevent the vest from delivering a treatment. If it continues to detect the very wrongful signals coming from his heart, it will alert him and he goes through the same exercise again.
He contacts his doctor, ZOLL, and then EMS. The same goes if he goes unconscious and his vest activates and delivers a treatment.

UPDATE: (4/12/25)
I was diagnosed with (CLL - (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) a couple of years ago after having it for at least five years. I went from doctor to doctor trying to figure out what was wrong, getting dismissed by many. I had a PET scan recently and got results that it has progressed. Uptake in my throat and bone marrow, which wasn't in the scan I had two years ago. I've been having trouble swallowing for 2 1/2 years now. I went on a chemo drug called Calquence for a year after I was first diagnosed. CLL
Yesterday I had more bloodwork. I’m being tested for gene deletions and mutations to see which treatment will work best. I forgot what they were called because there were so many. I want to know why they didn’t do that first after suffering for so long.
I also researched more oncologists and found one that looks promising. I sent him my medical records from all my oncologists for him to review.
Praying that this is the doctor that can help me.

My wife Jane was discharged from a hospital Thursday and unfortunately we had to bring her back on Saturday. This time, however, we were able to get her to another hospital that is a big improvement over the first one. Her hemoglobin is up but sliding down so the concern is internal bleeding. We are going to switch oncologists from the current doctor whose is far away to a closer one. This hospital has chemo chairs in it which helps a lot.
Diane has made a great improvement. The doctor said the removed 36 pounds of fluid from her and he never saw that before. God has been good to our family and your prayers have helped.

My mom has been suffering some sort of nerve issue in her leg to the point that she cannot even walk right now and was in extraordinary pain up until about last weekend. It's not fun watching your mom cry from pain!
UPDATE (4/3/25) Mom is almost fully recovered, only use the Walker now if she gets up in the middle of the night. Still using heating pad daily, but off any pain meds.
Stunning recovery, IMO, considering how badly this all started and the fact she is 85.

His lower aorta aneurysm appears stabilized and being monitored. He now is receiving total cardiac work-up: physical, blood work, EKG, etc.

AMorePerfectUnion (AMPU) asked if I would keep him in prayer and I gladly agreed. I asked if I could spread the request around to more prayer warriors, and he agreed. A few weeks ago, AMPU contracted a virus which exacerbated a prior heart condition. As he struggles to overcome the infection, there's concern that the virus and stress on the heart can cause damage.
Please pray for the protection and recovery of his body and heart, and for his spirits to be uplifted as he traverses the medical plains and byways.

My COPD has taken a bad turn, and left me pretty much on needing oxygen 24/7.
Nobody is sure why, as I have been really careful about doing as my doctor recommends, but my breathing has become so much worse!
COPD is unfortunately a progressive disease, so things like this are not entirely unexpected, but still..
I would appreciate prayers so that I can at least do some of the things I used to enjoy, without becoming so SOB, that it is frightening.
I’ve been also been struggling with the return of my back pain and a thyroid condition.

(1/08/25) On Saturday afternoon I lost 1/2 of the vision in my right eye from a branch retinal artery occlusion.
According to what my eye doctor, it is highly unlikely the vision will return. I would be totally without hope we’re it not for my faith in Jesus Christ. Even as tears stream down my face, I have chosen faith in my Savior.

Granddaughter Scarrlett needs prayers. She is 5 months old, and not gaining weight on formula - . About the same, at 5 months she is not gaining weight on formula and is still not a normal baby.
Broken wrist clean break is healed, 1 round of TP, hand is improving, but will need a 2nd round. Praise God it was not worse..

I need to lose a lot of weight. I’m haunted by my past and am now the only member of my immediate family left. Having lost my last sibling, I’m the Last Mohican and can’t get out of bed often due to depression.
I have a lot of things to do for the remaining estate. I also gave up my talent long ago, owing to extreme pressure by my first spouse, costing me my self-esteem.

I'll make this short and to the point. I am requesting prayers for my wife Sharee. The doctors found a mass on her pancreas and liver. She has 2 appointments scheduled, one for a CT Guided liver biopsy, and another one for an Endoscopic Ultrasound to get a biopsy and closer image of her pancreas. As of now the doctors believe she has cancer, but they need these tests done to be sure. Her appointments on Nov 21st, and Nov 26th.
My wife is 55, and as many already know she is a paraplegic. We were in a car accident back in 1987 and she has been in a wheelchair ever since, because she severed her spine at the T-6 level. Please keep her in your prayers that the tests will show the masses are benign. If she has cancer, please pray that God will heal her.
I will keep my FReeper profile updated with information as things progress, which I pray all goes well.

Update: (11/17/24) Team of Drs. met and determined NOT to do the Prognostic Test as scheduled for Tues.... ‘Praise the Lord’ ....instead they want to wait 3 months and do another Cat scan and see how things look at that time.
This is such a great relief and I can handle waiting another 3 months.....this is Gods doing and an answer to prayers. His name is greatly to be praised!

I am asking for prayers for my baby brother Mike. Our hometown is Newport Tn and the floods have caused massive problems. In the midst of this my brother has entered the hospital with renal failure and sepsis and things are touch and go. The hospital is having to truck in water to operate in this crisis. There are a lot of people suffering during this time so while praying for them I ask you to remember my brother and family as well. Thanks for all you do, Freerepublic is still the best place to be.

I returned to the scene of where my house USED to be yesterday...OMG. They were burning huge piles of debris (my home and my possessions) on and next to the closed interstate.
I ran into a woman who had served in the Middle East...she said the scene looked WORSE than Beirut. It was surreal. Prayer is certainly needed…
My wife is Type-1 diabetic, her insulin pump was swept away, and it was a NIGHTWARE getting her back ‘online’, as we had lost her settings, and her endo is in ASHEVILLE, with no way to communicate with her. Fortunately, we were able to locate a diabetes counselor who was an expert in working with brand of pump. (God is wonderful.) This whole situation is why I am up at 4:20 posting on FR.
Governor Lee, Senator Blackburn, and Congresswoman Harshbarger were doing a press conference just a few yards from where my home used to be...the usual political blather that the media types just drool over. Useless.
Best assets for victims are good old CASH (so individuals can make the decision as to what they need...VISA gift cards and such...avoid company-specific gift cards, keep financial support as liquid as possible.) Best charity is probably Samaritan’s Purse. Dr. Graham’s homebase of Boone, NC was trashed. Red Cross and other high-profile charities are generally t*ts on a boar. FEMA?
Don’t make me laugh. NO sign of our black-clad saviors. Will reply to all...just be patient, as I am being yanked in a thousand different directions, but I have PLENTY of stories. :-) IMO, this was a message/judgement/warning from God Almighty...He is trying to get our attention. More later.

She is doing better. She has healed from the broken leg, and my sister says she is doing better at the memory care center she is in. She still requires constant watch, but that is being provided by the capable staff. Thank you.

It’s been a terrible year. If it’s not a curse, it’s God Himself trying to tell me something ;)
As for the latest, the 3 tendons on the back of my hand that were cut are healing somewhat. Since June 11 I haven’t been able to use that, my right hand, for very much at all. No grip, no strength. Still swollen. Surgery just about 2 months ago now, I’m getting terrifically impatient and despondent over not being able to do my usual things.
As for the emergency hernia that happened - what? 5 days after hand surgery? - I had a spigelian hernia, no idea how or when but all of the sudden it was THERE. From 0 to 160 in 10 minutes. Wow, the pain.
So, the wonderful surgeon came in and opened me like a can of sardines at 3 AM on a Sunday morning, and after an initial 2 weeks of not doing very well, THAT is healing magnificently. The scar is about 8-10 inches but most of the bruising is gone. I still can’t actually look at it.
Before we knew what it was and before the morphine and fentanyl kicked in, I asked Dahoser to not only post for prayers on FR but I made him baptize me, too. Some kind of glacier water right outta the machine - I hope God doesn’t mind.
(now, although I do profess to be a born again evangelical I have yet to be properly baptized. Just haven’t found a church that does living, running water baptisms and I never thought the fish tank kind were very hygienic or proper).
And so that’s it for my surgical updates. I am surely better than I deserve but I wish I was a bit better than that.
Aside from all that, Dahoser is still only working a very cheap contract and we need a full time job with health insurance. It’s good to have the paycheck from the contract but that will be ending soon and we may end up living in our cars. At least we have 2 of them :)
Oy. Can you tell I haven’t been out of the house much in 3 months?? Dang I need some real life people, too.

Thank you all so much for your prayers for Baby N, who suffered a serious stroke shortly after birth. She has improved enough to go home, but the doctors say that she has suffered damage to her brain which may cause ongoing problems.

My niece has Gastroparesis, it’s a slow digestive disorder, I went through the same thing years ago. It is totally diet-controlled. The 1 med is useless. Supplements, eat simple, no hulls, peels, or seeds.
I’ve already told her what to do, she just has to be patient and start slow. Doctors sent her home on a liquid diet. Down to 95 lbs. I hit 108.
The coatings on fruits are making people sick. And you can’t wash them off, Gates crap. Apeel or Peelz. Handle with surgery gloves.
