Gen 16:13 Hagar called (H7121 call or cry out) the name of the LORD (YHWH) that spake into her, thou God (H410 El, shortened, Almighty or any diety) sees me.... Yes El can be used for any god, but this verse implies a relationship with YHWH. Called H410 is used throughout the OT in a general sense and has no special or deeper meaning.

Jesus Himself said that if anyone came after him claiming to be the Messiah he was not truthful.

Third point is that Jesus said he actually WAS Truth itself. ("I am the way...") Remember? That's a whole lot different from him saying, 'yes it's a good idea to tell the truth most of the time.'

Conclusion: Any religion messing with truth to the extent they do self-invalidates, as far as we Christians are concerned.

The issue is dealing with the Angel of the Lord and his role as both a messenger and a Theophany/Christophany. Any nefarious reading of Gen 16 causes issues later on in the OT.
