He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You have reconciled us to Yourself and transferred us from the dominion of darkness into Your Son's Kingdom. Thank You that in Him all things hold together and that He is above all things.
We agree with Paul here in his prayer for the Colossians, that for all us believers that You would fill us with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy. We ask that for all believers everywhere, not just the US. We know that we are facing difficult and trying times here, but we also know that in many places around the world, fellow believers are suffering far worse treatment and persecution to the point of death.
We ask in these times of difficulty that as we draw near to You, that You would draw near to us as you promised, and manifest it in a tangible way. We desperately need the guidance and strength of Your Holy Spirit. Lord, direct our paths and the paths of all those in positions of authority and power in this country. Especially be with those Christians who are in office who are facing unrelenting attacks of evil against them. Protect them in miraculous ways as You protected President Trump last year in Butler.
Please continue to raise up godly men and women into political office until such time as You decide the end is here. And we'll thank You for it, in Jesus' matchless Name.
