Founded in 1845 and claiming 16,000 students, Baylor University is the world’s largest Baptist University and also one of the oldest. Like many that have gone before, Baylor is deeply compromised despite seeking to be our theological betters.
Baylor repeatedly touts their Christian creds, but the game is nearly up. Despite affirming that “The mission of Baylor University is to educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community” and “the biblical understanding that sexual relations of any kind outside of marriage between a man and a woman are not in keeping with the teaching of Scripture, they are anything but. Accoriding to a recent report in Good Faith Media:
..The Center for Church and Community Impact (C3I) has been awarded a grant (of $643,401) from the Eula Mae and John Baugh Foundation “to foster inclusion and belonging in the church,” with an emphasis on understanding “the disenfranchisement and exclusion of LGBTQIA+ individuals and women within congregations to nurture institutional courage and foster change.”
Housed in the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, the C3I aims to “help congregations who wish to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone in their community. The press release states:
Many LGBTQIA+ individuals and women experience what researchers call “institutional betrayal” within their faith communities – situations where the institutions they depend on for spiritual support fail to protect them or even actively harm them. This might involve exclusion from church activities, family estrangement and painful conflicts that leave lasting emotional wounds.
This study, Courage from the Margins: Inclusion and Belonging Practices for LGBTQIA+ and Women in Congregations, prioritizes their voices, giving them a safe space to share their experiences and guide positive change within faith communities. Central to this work is C3I’s focus on those who have felt the brunt of institutional betrayal from congregations and the team’s desire to illuminate the fundamental human needs for belonging and support.
The goal of the study will further be to enable and encourage churches and faith-based institutions to develop:
* greater cultural sensitivity and humility,
* trauma-informed approaches to ministry,
* concrete steps toward genuine inclusion, and
* environments where all members can thrive.
Several years ago, Baylor University’s Board of Regents granted the creation of Prism, the pro-LGBTQ group on campus that sponsored the aforementioned queer-sex ed course, and which has continued pushing for greater LGBTQ representation on campus. At this rate, Baylor will be fully LGBTQ inclusive in about a decade .
Just another so called Christian university that fell to the dark side.
Is there no money to study the inclusion of Satanists in the church?
This destructive racist devisive garbage is coming to Baylor? Baylor??
The Enrmies of America sure aren’t shy about using money to corrupt our best institutions
I’m sure there are some FReepers here that will say this was once a very fine school but went liberal a few years back now this is happening.
I don’t know anything about Baylor, what is it’s history?
They sold their souls for athletic success.
What the flip, Kip?
Baylor University’s a Baptist college - oldest college in Texas- (1845 charted by the Republic of Texas), 1000 acre campus in Waco, 21000 students, pretty highly ranked.
Baptist colleges shouldn’t take or spend money for sponsoring homosexual programs — in my humble opinion no schools should be doing this stuff
It seems trite to say it but.....follow the money.
Ideological jiu jitsu.
The left are experts at forcing the right (taxpayers) to fund the left’s agenda.
Baylor was once extremely conservative, just like the SBC. Not so now.
I have a little insight into it having graduated there in ‘86 . My g-g-g grandfather was William Carey Crane, president of Baylor from 1865 to 1889 and the reason Baylor is in Waco and not Independence, TX. He was also the official biographer of Sam Houston.
All that said, I wouldn’t give them a dime now.
Satan is very strong in this nation .
They may have gone a bit more left, but they are nothing like UT and most other universities in Texas. My son has had it with UT and is likely transferring to Baylor.
A whole lot of the problem is people in charge are perverts. I wonder if any of our Congress critters are Sexual Perverts? We will never know.
