🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(7/2/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Ezekiel 31:1-10
Pharaoh as a Felled Cedar of Lebanon 31 In the eleventh year, in the third month on the first day, the word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes:
“‘Who can be compared with you in majesty?
3 Consider Assyria, once a cedar in Lebanon,
with beautiful branches overshadowing the forest;
it towered on high,
its top above the thick foliage.
4 The waters nourished it,
deep springs made it grow tall;
their streams flowed
all around its base
and sent their channels
to all the trees of the field.
5 So it towered higher
than all the trees of the field;
its boughs increased
and its branches grew long,
spreading because of abundant waters.
6 All the birds of the sky
nested in its boughs,
all the animals of the wild
gave birth under its branches;
all the great nations
lived in its shade.
7 It was majestic in beauty,
with its spreading boughs,
for its roots went down
to abundant waters.
8 The cedars in the garden of God
could not rival it,
nor could the junipers
equal its boughs,
nor could the plane trees
compare with its branches—
no tree in the garden of God
could match its beauty.
9 I made it beautiful
with abundant branches,
the envy of all the trees of Eden
in the garden of God.
10 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because the great cedar towered over the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height, 11 I gave it into the hands of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside, 12 and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys; its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it. 13 All the birds settled on the fallen tree, and all the wild animals lived among its branches. 14 Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortals who go down to the realm of the dead.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Eternal Father,
Strong To Save,
Slow To Anger
And Infinitely Merciful and Just,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Hallowed and Wonderful Name!
How Marvelous Are Your Works.
The Very Heavens Declare Your Glory,
Without Embarrassment,
They Just Burst Forth in Sumptuous, Overwhelming Praise.
The Stars,
The Rocks,
The Waterfalls,
Even The Lowly Grasses of The Field Burst Forth into Riotous Colors,
In Worship of Their Awesome Creator.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

The Tenth-Grade English Teacher assigned the same task to her students every year. Each student was to be graded on a fully illustrated Poetry Book that met exact specifications. The book had to be illustrated, and had to contain ten poems of the student's own composition. Each of the ten had to illustrate the different kinds of poetic formats: Sonnets, Free Verse, Narrative, Haiku, etc. (For Some Reason, Limericks were not included 😁). The High School was in a very affluent area, so, most of the parents farmed out the project to professionals, and the teacher was inundated with slick publications, on high-gloss paper, full color, with deftly edited poems that met all the qualifications. My piano student, who had been given this assignment, wanted to do it herself, with a little coaching from me and her parents. Since she was already writing songs with me, her poems were lyrical and witty, and I just proofread them to make sure they fit the teacher's parameters.
The artwork was her own, and didn't measure up to the fancy publications submitted by the other students, and she got an A-minus. I was indignant! OF COURSE the other books looked more professional. They were manufactured by PROFESSIONALS!
With AI, CGI, Chatbot, and other programs, we are being "fine-tuned" to expect perfection at the loss of personality. I would prefer a less-than-stellar production from a sincere hard-working artist over AI any day of the week. Perhaps the English Teacher's goal was to teach her affluent students HOW to HIRE somebody else to do their work for them. If that was her goal, she succeeded.
Ezekiel didn't have any of these tools available to him. At the most, he may have hired a Scribe to listen to him and write down his words. Even so, his Poetry contains many of the items demanded by that Tenth-Grade Teacher.
Although Hebrew Poetry didn't use Rhyme, it did use Alliteration, Personification, Rhythm, Contrasting Couplets, Call & Response, Repetition, Comparisons, Chiasms, and other Poetic Tools.
In Today's Passage, Ezekiel compares the King of Egypt to a Mighty Cedar Tree in Lebanon. This magnificent tree doesn't just drink water, it channels water to other trees, nurtures the land, provides food and shelter to the birds and animals, and is a thing of beauty. But, all trees reach an end at some point, and they come crashing down, often bringing down half the neighboring trees with it.
Do you think Ezekiel could have managed an A+ with the English Teacher?

Psalm 13
To the leader. A Psalm of David.
1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me for ever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I bear pain* in my soul,
and have sorrow in my heart all day long?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God!
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,
4 and my enemy will say, ‘I have prevailed’;
my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.
5 But I trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
