[Catholic Caucus] His Own University is Now Against Him: Andrea Grillo, Francis' Liturgist and the Father of Traditionis Custodes, Hates the Eucharist and Must Have His Imprint Erased

Andrea Grillo: has any man done more to rekindle the liturgical wars?

The detestable Italian professor was introduced by some malevolent Vatican spirit to Francis and created the document that would later be signed by the late pope as "Traditionis custodes", whose aim is explicitly to destroy the Traditional Latin Mass in the long term.

But it seems Grillo has at last bitten more than he can chew (or at least at last because it happened during this new pontificate). In an article from early June, the Father of Traditionis Custodes, lambasted Carlo Acutis, the young man beatified by Francis and to be canonized by Leo XIV in October.

Now, one can criticize (as many Traditional Catholics do) the rush to canonization -- not only of Acutis, but of so many figures since the reforms of the beatification and canonization procedures by John Paul II. But it is grotesque to criticize Acutis himself, a young man who appeared to really love the Blessed Sacrament and who died young due to grave illness. And yet -- it was precisely Acutis' most endearing characteristic, his enduring love for the Blessed Sacrament, in the most traditional manner, that Grillo ridiculed in his article, entitled "Young Carlo Acutis and Eucharistic Miseducation." (source)

Basically, Grillo's problem is that he hates the Traditional understanding of the Blessed Sacrament and displays a hardly hidden hatred for the dogma of Transubstantiation. In prior centuries, a man like him would have been excommunicated -- under Francis, he wrote the document on the Traditional rites of the Latin Church!

The reaction to Grillo under the New Administration was so stunned that today even his university, the Anselmianum (Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm), where he had reigned supreme for the past decade, published a note distancing themselves from the private writings of their professors:

June 23, 2025. The Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm resolutely distances itself from what is individually expressed by professors who, in their personal capacity and under their sole and full responsibility, publish on their sites or blogs, theses, opinions or personal positions.

They, in fact, do not represent what is taught in the various faculties of our Athenaeum, which totally accepts and transmits, in full trust and obedience of faith - from the perspective of a healthy dialectic on which true theological research is based - the teaching of the Church and the Roman Pontiff.

Pro-Rector, Prof. Fr. Laurentius Eschlböck, O.S.B. [source]

Now, this is good, but at the same time it is ridiculously COWARDLY for the Anselmianum. They do not even mention Grillo by name! If one of their PROFESSORS is espousing open public contempt for Catholic dogma and essential devotion, he should be investigated and fired. They can't just "distance" themselves from heresy advocated in public by their own faculty. Either Grillo is fired, or the ridiculing of the Eucharist and the perfectly orthodox eucharistic devotion of a future saint are fully owned by the Anselmianum. They can't run away from it when he remains their professor, and their most influential professor at that.

Hopefully, the wide knowledge of the evilness of the ideas of Andrea Grillo will make the new Pope reconsider the illegitimate and anti-eucharistic Traditionis custodes. One and the same spirit are behind hatred for the Traditional Latin Mass and hatred for the Blessed Sacrament. One and the same evil spirit.

Anselm: We object! We won’t tell you what we object to or to whom our wrath is directed, but we object!

Cartoon Network: Only WE can presume this obscure, secret objection. BTW, it has to be Pope Francis, or a friend of his, or someone he met, or someone he blessed and wrote something, or something. But only we know!

The rest of the sane world: Is this Monty Python? If not, who cares?

If not, who cares?

True Catholics, unlike yourself, care.

Care about what, ebby? Did you read the article? It’s entirely speculation without a basis in fact. I know you care about such non-sense; “true catholics” do not care about such speculation or non-sense. It’s simply your cartoon network devining reasons to hate Pope Francis - your favorite target.

I care. Even someone who is not a full fledged traditionalist should be upset that this creep criticized a saintly young man who loved Christ with all of his heart and soul. Why would any Catholic compare such things to Monty Python?

You don’t have a problem with this professor? The writers and journalists at Rorate Caeli do their homework. I doubt they’re making it up.

Why would any Catholic compare such things to Monty Python?

Because oystir pretends he's a catholic in order to attack the Catholic Church.

Really? What proof or source did Rotate provide to their wild assumption? None. The article leads to what was originally posted on a website. Did you bother to read or look, Gilligan? Of course not.

They published a Francis fetish.

If anybody has a francis fetish, it’s you, foister.

P.S.

He’s dead, Jim.

Foister, if you had even read the translation of the referenced website, you would have seen that Grillo questions not only documented eucharistic miracles, the dogma of Transubstatiation, and is favor of the heretical "pro omnibus" vs "pro multis" words of the Consecration.

But undoubtedly, you probably would agree with this fellow anti-Catholic of yours.

I read the whole thing, Maynard. It’s a solid piece of journalism. Why don’t you go over to Cardinal Turk’s palace and eat pizza with fatso?

Here is the headline of the article: “His Own University is Now Against Him...”

The article then links Grillo to Francis. Then in part somewhat agrees with Grillo but also really trashes Grillo (whether he deserves it or not is irrelevant.)

The cartoon network then uses this line to link the article to the headline (BTW, it is a non-sequitur): “The reaction to Grillo under the New Administration was so stunned that today even his university, the Anselmianum (Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm), where he had reigned supreme for the past decade, published a note distancing themselves from the private writings of their professors”

They then use referenced quote from the University that makes absolutely no direct or indirect reference to Grillo. It possibly speaks about others and their possible bad actions. No Grillo whatsoever! It has nothing to do with Grillo’s linked article.

In fact, they then say about the big referenced quote “They do not even mention Grillo by name!” How’s that for logic? It is if ebby wrote it. ImagineThat!

It’s a circle jerk insinuating that Grillo is condemned by his old university when, in fact, he is not!!! The headline is FAKE and the article isn’t supported by anything. If the cartoon network wants to criticize Grillo, criticize what he wrote in the linked article. It has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with “his university.”

Reading is fundamental, Gilligan.

So far, in all your anti-catholic posts, you have referred to six different websites as being the "cartoon network".

Could you please identify specifically which network you are referring to?

I know it's not your favorite queer website: New Ways Ministry:

New Ways Ministry

Building bridges between the LGBTQ community and the Catholic Church since 1977

What were they whispering about, foister? I'm sure you have the inside scoop.

Oystir is as anti-catholic as Grillo is.

That’s why he blindly defends his fellow heretic.
