🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(6/25/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Deuteronomy 11:10-12

10 The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. 11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. 12 It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our One and Only God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
How Magnificent Is Your Glory,
And How Righteous Are Your Precepts;
How True and Perfect Your Judgments.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Lord,
You Alone Are The One True God.
What can we do except gasp in Wonder at Your Holy Word,
As You Open Up Your Eternal and Wonderful Redemptive Love To Us?

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

There was an idyllic time when a seventh-grader could get on a bus, make a few changes on the subway, and spend the day in Boston. Filene's Basement was a great place to shop for bargains, and the City had lots of free historical sites and activities. You didn't need money to have a fun day "in town".

One of my favorite places to go, although on a totally different transit line, was the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Back then, it was free admission, with only an Ancient Chest set up as a Donation Box. For a handful of coins (or not), a world of priceless treasures opened up before me: Van Goghs, Monets, Rembrandts, an entire Buddhist Temple reconstructed on site, Greek, Roman, and Etruscan Statuary, and...the Crown of the Institution...Boston's Famous Egyptian Collection. It was my favorite. There were 5000-year-old mummies, massive statues, and intricate tomb paintings. What seemed like miles of glass cases held exquisite jewelry, and set my personal tastes in stone for the next half-century.

When the Traveling Exhibit of King Tut's Treasures visited Boston, it cost an extra five bucks, but it was well worth it. I can still remember the the little gold toe covers that the "Boy King" wore on each of his toes when he wore leather sandals. The golden toes were modeled exactly to fit, and were the strangest thing I had ever seen.

Long after King Tut left Boston, I was in High School, and attended nine hours a week of Art Instruction at the Museum. We were down in the basement, but I never missed an opportunity to go upstairs to the Egyptian Collection. My art has been influenced by that style ever since. Even paintings of my DOG have that flat, poster-like ambiance of Ancient Egyptian Art.

Now, imagine a People immersed in that Culture for 400 Years. Certainly the Art of such a people would bear a resemblance to the Culture in which they had lived, even as aliens and slaves. The accepted theories on the appearance of The Ark of the Covenant, for example, bear a strong resemblance to the Anubis Shrine from King Tut's Tomb.

The only real source of Water in Ancient Egypt was the Nile River. It was used for Drinking, Bathing, Transportation, and Irrigation. The water was lower than the banks of the river, so the People devised a lever for raising the water up to the Irrigation Ditches. This device was known as a shaduf, and it was regularly illustrated in Egyptian Art. The Israelites were to enter the Promised land with plans to do everything just like they did before in Egypt.

But, God had other plans. From this Passage, in which God compares the shaduf and its laborious process of watering the crops, God says He will provide Rain and Streams to irrigate the land.

It may be a stretch, but I see an analogy between "Grace and. Works".

As Paul says in Galatians:

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 59

To the leader: Do Not Destroy. Of David. A Miktam, when Saul ordered his house to be watched in order to kill him.

1 Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
protect me from those who rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from those who work evil;
from the bloodthirsty save me.

3 Even now they lie in wait for my life;
the mighty stir up strife against me.
For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,
4 for no fault of mine, they run and make ready.

Rouse yourself, come to my help and see!
5 You, Lord God of hosts, are God of Israel.
Awake to punish all the nations;
spare none of those who treacherously plot evil.
Selah

6 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
7 There they are, bellowing with their mouths,
with sharp words* on their lips—
for ‘Who’, they think,* ‘will hear us?’

8 But you laugh at them, O Lord;
you hold all the nations in derision.
9 O my strength, I will watch for you;
for you, O God, are my fortress.
10 My God in his steadfast love will meet me;
my God will let me look in triumph on my enemies.

11 Do not kill them, or my people may forget;
make them totter by your power, and bring them down,
O Lord, our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips,
let them be trapped in their pride.
For the cursing and lies that they utter,
13 consume them in wrath;
consume them until they are no more.
Then it will be known to the ends of the earth
that God rules over Jacob.
Selah

14 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
15 They roam about for food,
and growl if they do not get their fill.

16 But I will sing of your might;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been a fortress for me
and a refuge on the day of my distress.
17 O my strength, I will sing praises to you,
for you, O God, are my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.

Amen.

I remember taking the train into Boston at the same age. The feeling of independence and maturity was invigorating! Our parents didn’t have to worry, either. Heavy sigh.
